ABSTRAK

PENGERJAAN MATERIAL PADA PROSES ELECTROCHEMICAL MACHINING ECM PADA PRINSIPNYA BERDASARKAN PADA KELANGSUNGAN PROSES ELEKTROLISA YANG BERTITIK-BERATKAN PADA ANODABENDA KERJA SEHINGGA TERJADI PELARUTAN ANODIS. NAMUN ADANYA PELARUTAN DARI BAGIAN-BAGIAN PADA BENDA KERJA YANG TIDAK DIKEHENDAKIYANG DIAKIBATKAN OLEH TERJADINYA REAKSI ELEKTROKIMIA DENGAN BAGIAN PAHAT ELEKTRODA YANG SEHARUSNYA TIDAK MENJADI AREA KERJA PAHAT AKAN MENIMBULKAN SUATU PERMASALAHAN TERSENDIRI YAITU DIHASILKANYA PRODUK PENGERJAAN YANG LEBIH BESAR DIBANDINGKAN DENGAN PAHAT YANG DIGUNAKAN ATAU YANG BIASA DISEBUT OVERCUT MAUPUN DIHASILKANYA EFEK KETIRUSAN. TIMBULNYA KONDISI TERSEBUT AKAN MEMPENGARUHI KUALITAS PRODUK YAKNIMENURUNNYA KETELITIAN UKURAN MAUPUN GEOMETRI. UNTUKMEMINIMALISASIKAN TIMBULNYA KONDISI DIATAS ADALAH MEMBERIKAN SUATU BAHAN YANG BERSIFAT ISOLATIF PADA BAGIAN YANG SEHARUSNYA TIDAK MENJADI AREA KERJA DARI PAHAT UNTUK MENGURANGI ADANYA PELARUTAN ANODISDARI BAGIAN BENDA KERJA YANG TIDAK DIINGINKAN. OLEH KARENA ITU PADA TUGAS AKHIR INI AKAN DILAKUKAN PENELITIAN UNTUK MENGETAHUI PENGARUH PAHAT DENGAN MAUPUN TANPA ISOLASI TERHADAP TIMBULNYA KONDISI OVERCUT MAUPUN EFEK KETIRUSAN PADA BENDA KERJA. PENELITIAN DILAKUKAN DENGAN MEMVARIASIKAN VOLTAGE YAKNI 6V 12V 24V 36V 48V DENGAN DIAMETER PAHAT 12 mm


ABSTRACT

THE EXECUTION OF TEH MATERIAL IN THE PROCESS OF ELECTROCHEMICAL MACHINING ECM IS IN PRINCIPLE BASED ON THE CONTINUITY OF THE ELECTROLYSIS PROCESS-FOCUSED TO FOCUS ON THE ANODE WORKPIECE THAT RESULTED IN DISSOLUTION ANODIS. BUT THE DISSOLUTION OF ELECTROCHEMICAL REACTION WITH THE TOOL ELECTRODE THAT SHOULD NOT BE CARVING WORKSPACE WOULD CAUSE SUCH PROBLEMS NAMELY THE WORK PRODUCT PRODUCED LARGER THAN THE CHISEL IS USEDOR COMMONLY REFFERED TO OVERCUT AND THE RESULTING EFFECT OF TAPERING EFFECT. THE EMERGENCE OF THESE CONDITIONS WILL AFFECT THE QUALITY OF PRODUCT NAMELY DECREASING THE SIZE AND GEOMETRY ACCURACY. TO MINIMIZE THE OCCURENCE OF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS IS TO PROVIDE A MATERIAL NATURE ON THE PART ISOLATIF THAT SHOULD NOT BE A WORK AREA OF THE CUTTING TOOL TO REDUCE THE DISSOLUTION OF THE WORKPIECE ANODIS UNWANTED. THEREFORE IN THIS FINAL PROJECT WILL BE TO INVESTIGATE THE EFFECT OF CUTTING TOOL WITH AND WITHOUT THE INSULATION AGAINTS THE EMERGANCE OF CONDITIONS AND THE EFFECT OVERCUT TAPERING EFFECT ON THE WORKPIECE. THE STUDY WAS CONDUCTED BY VARYING THE VOLTAGE THAT IS 6V 12V 24V 36V 48V WITH A DIAMETER OF 12 mm CHISEL FROM THE RESEARCH RESULT CAN BE KNOWN HOW FAR THE INFLUENCE OF VOLTAGE VARIATIONS ISOLATED EITHER BY USING A CHISEL OR WITHOUT INSULATION WILL AFFECT OVERCUT CONDITION THE EFFECT OF TAPERING EFFECT ON THE PRODUCT AND WORKMANSHIP ECM MRR
