ABSTRAK

Turbine ventilator merupakan sistem ventilasi yang banyak dimanfaatkan secara luas terutama pada industri pergudangan workshop bahkan rumah tangga. Peralatan ini berfungsi untuk menghisap udara dalam sebuah ruangan yang selanjutnya akan dibuang menuju atmosfir. Peralatan tersebut tidak membutuhkan energi listrik untuk memutarnya cukup dengan hembusan angin dari luar gedung peralatan tersebut telah berfungsi dengan baik. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengkaji unjuk kerja turbine ventilator dengan modifikasi penambahan hood pada duct turbine ventilator. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental dalam sebuah wind tunnel. Model uji yang digunakan adalah turbine ventilator dengan variasi bukaan sudut hood 9450 0296004960dan08960. Freestream diinduksikan pada turbine ventilator berdasarkan bilangan Reynold sebesar 56.000 93.000 130.000 dan 170.000. Variable yang diukur adalah perbedaan tekanan pada duct turbine ventilator putaran turbine ventilator dan torsi yang dibangkitkan oleh turbine ventilator. Beda tekanan diukur dengan menggunakan pitot static tube putaran turbine ventilator diukur dengan menggunakan tachometer dan torsi diukur dengan mengukur daya pada rangkaian generator DC. Dari penelitian didapatkan bahwa putaran turbin ventilator akan semakin naik dengan semakin meningkatnya bukaan sudut hood pada Reynolds number yang sama. Selain itu tekanan hisap debit hisap daya serta efisiensi turbin ventilator juga semakin meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya bukaan hood juga pada bilangan Reynolds yang sama.


ABSTRACT

Turbine ventilator are ventilation system which used especially in industries warehouses workshops and even households. This equipment serves to suck the air in a room and then be discharged into the atmosphere. The equipment does not require electrical energy only with the gusts of wind from outside the building the equipment was functioning properly. This study intended to assess the performance of turbine ventilator with additional duct modifications of turbine ventilator. This research was conducted experimentally on 300 mm diameter of turbine ventilator. Turbine ventilator were tested in wind tunnel and conducted by varying effects of opening angle of the hood. Freestream induced to turbine ventilators based on Reynolds numbers of 56.000 93.000 130.000 and 170.000. The measured variable is pressure difference at the duct of turbine ventilators turbine ventilators angular velocity and the power that generated by the turbine ventilator. the pressure difference is measured using pitot static tube ventilator turbine rotation is measured by using tachometer and torque is measured by measuring the charge in the DC generator circuit. The result show that the rotation of turbine ventilator will increase as long as the opening angle of hood is rising at the same reynold number. In other hand the suction pressure flowrate power and efficiency of vent turbin also increasing with the rising of opening angle of hood at the same reynolds number.
