ABSTRAK

Organic Rankine Cycle ORC merupakan siklus yang dikembangkan agar bisa memanfaatkan temperatur rendah 170oc dan tekanan rendah 6 bar. Siklus ORC dimodifikasi dari siklus rankine yang fluida kerjanya diganti dari air menjadi Refrigerant. Pompa merupakan saah satu komponen penting dari ORC. Pompa yang digunakan pada ORC harus mampu meningkatkan tekanan tinggi dan tidak bocor. Salah Satu Pompa yang mampu meningkatkan tekanan tinggi dan memiliki kapasitas menengah adalah pompa sentrifugal multistage. Untuk mencegah kebocoran maka diperlukan seal seal yang sering digunakan pada pompa sentrifugal adalah packing. Packing hanya mampu bekerja pada kondisi ringan yaitu pada tekanan dan suhu yang rendah. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut maka digunakan mechanical seal sebagai pengganti packing agar tidak terjadi kebocoran dan mampu bekerja pada suhu dan tekanan yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka dalam makalah tugas akhir ini dibahas suatu topik mengenai perancangan pompa sentrifugal multistage untuk memompa R-123 yang menggunakan mechanical seals sebagai pengganti packing. Karakteristik pompa yang dirancang mampu meningkatkan tekanan dari 1 bar ke 5.5 bar dan kapasitas 1m3jam serta putaran 3000 rpm. Komponen-komponen pompa sentrifugal yang dirancang meliputi poros impeller wearing ring sudu pengarah pasak dan bearing. Tahap perancangan dimulai dari perhitungan komponen-komponen segitiga kecepatan pada sisi inlet dan outlet impeller. Selanjutnya mendesain impeller dengan menggunakan metode double curvature dilanjutkan dengan perhitungan perancangan poros wearing ring sudu pengarah bearing dan pasak serta menentukan jenis mechanical seals yang cocok untuk kerja pompa dan fluida kerja R-123. Penelitian ini didapatkan disain pompa sentrifugal multistage dengan fluida kerja R123 untuk sistem organic rankine cycle. Pompa yang dirancang memiliki efisiensi total 85.67 dan membutuhkan daya 236.7 watt. Pompa sentrifugal multistage menggunakan Mechanical Seal tipe single balance produk dari ANGA untuk mencegah kebocoran.


ABSTRACT

Organic Rankine Cycle ORC is a cycle that was developed in order to take advantage of low temperatures 170oC and low pressure 6 bar. ORC cycle is modified from a rankine cycle that its fluid works is changed from water to refrigerant. The pump is one of important component on the ORC. Pumps which is used in the ORC should be able to improve high pressure and not leaking. One of the pumps which can improve the high pressure and high capacity is a centrifugal pump multistage. To prevent leakage it is necessary to seal seals that often to be used on centrifugal pumps is packing. Packing only able to work in mild pressure conditions and low temperature. To solve this problem then mechanical seal is used as a replacement to prevent leakage and capable of working at high temperatures and pressures. Based on these conditions in this Final Project is discussed a topic on the design of multistage centrifugal pumps for pumping R-123 that uses mechanical seals instead of packing. Characteristics of pumps that are designed to increase the pressure from 1 bar to 5.5 bar and 1 m3hour capacity and 3000 rpm. The designed components are centrifugal pump includes shaft impeller wearing ring return passage pins and bearings. Design stage starts from the calculation of the components of velocity triangles at inlet and outlet side of the impeller. Furthermore the impeller design using double curvature method followed by calculation design shaft wearing ring return passages bearings and pins and determine a suitable type of mechanical seals for pumps work and the working fluid R-123. From this research will be invented the design ofmultistage centrifugal pump with the working fluid R-123 fororganic systems rankine cycle. Pumps that are designed tohave a total efficiency of 85.67 and requires 236.7 watts of power. Mechanical Seal Multistage Centrifugal Pump using a single balance type of ANGA product to prevent leakage.
