ABSTRAK

Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan yang memiliki potensi energi dari panas bumi yang sangat besar. Namun pada kenyataannya sumber panas bumi ini tidak semua mampu dimanfaatkan menghasilkan listrik karena memiliki tekanan dan temperatur yang relatif rendah 3 bar dan 120o C. Organic Rankine Cycle ORC merupakan salah satu sistem pembangkit tenaga yang mampu memanfaatkan waste energy dengan menggunakan fluida organik yang mampu menguap pada temperatur dan tekanan rendah. Sistem ORC ini belum banyak dikenal luas maka diperlukan perancangan beberapa penyusun sistem. Performa dari sistem ORC sangat tergantung dari turbin yang digunakan. Oleh karena itu untuk mendapatkan suatu sistem ORC harus dilakukan perancangan turbin uap yang sesuai untuk sistem ORC. Turbin yang dirancang adalah turbin uap jenis impuls. Komponen turbin yang akan dirancang meliputi jumlah stage dimensi dari nozzle jumlah nozzle bentuk dari blade turbin serta dimensi blade turbin dan ukuran diameter rata - rata ring blade. Tahap perancangan dimulai dari mendesain sistem ORC yang menggunakan fluida kerja R-123. Perancangan ini mampu menghasilkan sebuah turbin uap untuk Organic Rankine Cycle dengan fluida kerja R-123 yang menghasilkan effisiensi turbin sebesar 82 dengan daya yang dihasilkan sebesar 9 Kw.


ABSTRACT

Indonesia is an archipelago that has large potential of geothermal energy. In reality these geothermal resources are not able to be utilized to produce electricity because it has relatively low pressure and temperature 3 bar and 120o C. Organic Rankine Cycle ORC is one of the power generation system capable of utilizing waste energy by using organic fluid that can evaporate at low pressure and temperature. ORC system has not been widely known it is necessary to design a system compiler. Performance of the system depends on the turbine ORC used. Therefore to obtain an ORC system must be designed that is suitable for steam turbine ORC system. Designed turbine is an impulse steam turbine. Turbine components will be designed to include the number of satges dimensions of the nozzle the number of nozzle the shape of the turbine blade and turbine blade dimensions and average diameter ring blade.design stage starts from designing systems that use the ORC working fluid R-123. The design is capable to produce a steam turbine for the Organic Rankine Cycle with working fluid R-123 which able to make turbine efficiency of 82 with generated power of 9 Kw.
