ABSTRAK

Kemampuan untuk menghindari rintangan mutlak diperlukan oleh suatu mobile-robot otomatis. Navigasi gerakan robot berbasis Vision merupakan hal yang sangat menarik sekaligus menantang karena membutuhkan perhitungan yang kompleks. Sayang sekali system embedded yang sering digunakan untuk mengatur gerak robot mempunyai resource terbatas sehingga belum bisa dibebani proses-proses Computer Vision. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan mengembangkan suatu system mobile robot untuk bergerak menghindari rintangan yang berbasis Vision secara real-time. Dengan mengimplementasikan bahasa Python smartphone S60 Lego NXT dan komputer PC digabungkan untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut. XML-RPC telah diterapkan dan secara umum robot dapat menghindari rintangan. Mendeteksi rintangan dengan mengandalkan deteksi tepi harus mempertimbangkan kondisi lingkungan termasuk pencahayaan.


ABSTRACT

The obstacle avoidance ability is a mandatory thing for any autonomous mobile robot. Vision based robots navigation is a very interesting and also challenging domain since it requires complex computing. Unfortunatelly the embedded system which is mostly used to control robot has very limited resources. Consequently it nearly impossible to perform Computer Vision processes. This project had been aimed to develop a mobile robot system based Vision in real-time manners. In addition to achieve that goal Python were used to combine S60 Lego NXT and a computer. The XML-RPC has been implemented and generally the robot was able to avoid obstacles. Obstacles detection based on edge detection should consider about environtment containing light.
