STUDI PENGARUH VARIASI JARAK DAN KONFIGURASI OSCILLATING PARTS PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK ENERGI VORTEX

A STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF DISTANCES AND CONFIGURATION OF OSCILLATING PARTS IN VORTEX-ASSOCIATED POWER PLANT

ABSTRAK

Selama ini para peneliti berusaha untuk meredam Vortex Induced Vibration VIV karena menyebabkan terjadinya getaran pada struktur. Disamping mempunyai dampak buruk ternyata VIV juga dapat membangkitkan listrik dengan memanfaatkan energi kinetik dari vibrasi struktur yang ditimbulkan. Pembangkit listrik energi vortex adalah konsep baru dalam bidang renewable energy. Tugas akhir ini memfokuskan bahasan tentang oscillating part majemuk pada pembangkit listrik energi vortex. Variasi jarak antar konfigurasi oscillating part akan menghasilkan perbedaan amplitudo yang terjadi. Konfigurasi yang dibandingkan adalah sejajar vertikal dan segitiga. Variasi rasio jarak GD mulai dari 2 sampai 5 dengan kecepatan arus 05 075 dan 1 ms. Menggunakan bantuan software ANSYS 11.0 dilanjutkan dengan perhitungan manual dari persamaan dinamika struktur akan didapatkan nilai amplitudo pada oscillating part. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai GD berbanding lurus dengan amplitudo yang dihasilkan. Semakin besar GD amplitudo yang dihasilkan juga semakin besar. Sedangkan nilai frekuensi konstan terhadap variasi GD. Uji hipotesis mengenai rataan dua populasi menunjukan bahwa konfigurasi sejajar vertikal dan segitiga mempunyai kinerja yang sama.


ABSTRACT

So far the scientists have tried to reduce VIV causing vibration on structure. Beside bad effects VIV can be used to generate electricity by converting kinetic energy from vibration of struktur. Vortex energy power generation was a new concept in scope of renewable energy. This final project focus on multi oscillating parts on vortex energy power generation.Variation of gap between oscillating parts will show the differents of amplitude that can be produce. This configuration to compare side by side with triangle.Variation value of GD ranging from 2 to 5 with velocity of flow 0.5 0.75 and 1 ms. Using CFD software and continued with manual calculation using structure dynamic equation we get value of amplitude in oscillating parts. From this research can be seen the value of GD is proportional to amplitude that prodeced. The Greater value of GD the amplitude that produced also greater. While the value of frequency is constan to variation of GD. Test hipotesis for mean and population showed that configuration of side by side and triangle have same performance.
