RISK ASSESSMENT ON VALVE AND BEND DUE TO EROSION CORROSION

ABSTRAK

Korosi Erosi merupakan salah satu bentuk Internal Corrosion yang dapat menyebabkan kegagalan pada pipa bawah laut offshore pipeline. Potensi terjadinya korosi rrosi pada Valve dan Bend lebih signifikan dikarenakan bentuk geometrinya sehingga kedua komponen tersebut dipilih sebagai objek studi untuk dilakukan analisa dan penilaian risiko terhadap bahaya korosi erosi. Selain bentuk geometri dan kecepatan fluida pH dan temperatur juga mempengaruhi laju korosi erosi hasil variasi pH dan temperatur menunjukkan bahwa pH berbanding terbalik dengan laju korosi sedangkan temperatur berbanding lurus dengan laju korosi. Peluang kegagalan dari valve dan bend sangat dipengaruhi oleh mekanisme degradasi yang terjadi namun hal tersebut dapat berubah seiring dengan upaya perawatan inspeksi dan reparasi. Model markov digunakan sebagai teknik yang efisien untuk evaluasi keandalan dengan hasil analisa yang lebih mendekati kenyataan. Dari hasil perhitungan didapatkan peluang kegagalan dari valve dan bend adalah 2516 x 10-3. Sedangkan perhitungan konsekuensi diperoleh melalui kalkulasi volume kebocoran yang mengacu pada tuntunan BOEMRE. Penentuan tingkat risiko didasarkan pada hasil perhitungan peluang kegagalan dan konsekuensi akibat dari korosi erosi yang diberikan dalam bentuk matriks risiko yang mengacu pada DNV RP F107.


ABSTRACT

One form of Internal Corrosion is known as Erosion Corrosion EC which has potential effect of causing failure on offshore pipeline. EC is usually found in pipline component such as Valve and Bend its geometry form made this type of corrosion to be more significant therefore the study has been focused on that component as an object for risk assessment due to erosion corrosion failure. Furthermore besides the geometry form and fluid velocity pH and temperature also affecting the EC rates. The variation result of EC rates with pH and temperature demonstrated that pH equal flips over with EC rates in the other hand temperature is straight equal with EC rates. The probability of failure of valve and bend is highly infuenced by degradation mechanism that acting on it and this probability are modified as and when maintenance inspection and repair program are taken up. Markov model is utilized as an efficient technique for reliability evaluation with more considerable accuracy. Based on calculation result the probability of failure of valve and bend is found to be 2516 x 10 -3. Whereas the consequence of failure is estimated through volume spill calculation derived from BOEMREs manual. The determination of risk level is according to the result of probability and consequence calculation that is given in risk matrix based on DNV RP F107.
