ABSTRAK

Sistem perpipaan dalam industri migaskimia merupakan salah satu sistem yang cukup penting. Karena fungsinya yang sangat penting yaitu mengalirkan fluida dari satu tempat ke tempat lainnya maka sistem perpipaan ini harus mampu menahan semua beban yang bekerja padanya sehingga tidak terjadi deformasi dan tegangan yang berlebih atau kegagalan lainnya yang dapat mengganggu keseluruhan proses. Untuk itu harus dilakukan analisa fleksibilitas dan tegangan pada sistem perpipaan. Di sisi lain hasil analisa tersebut juga dapat digunakan untuk menentukan letak dan jenis pipe support yang akan dipasang dengan pertimbangan nilai ekonomis dan faktor keamanan dari sistem perpipaan sesuai code ASME B31.3 dan syarat fabrikasinya. Dalam Tugas Akhir ini dilakukan studi kasus terhadap penggunaan spring pipe support dan variasi pipe support pada Residue Catalyst Cracking to Propylene Project PT. PERTAMINA PERSERO yang bekerja sama dengan PT Rekayasa Industri. Analisa dilakukan secara numerik dengan menggunakan software CAESAR 5.1 terhadap existing design dan disain alternatifnya dengan memvariasikan letak pipe support jenis spring. Hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa pada existing design dan disain alternatif dengan menggunakan 2 pipe support jenis spring deformasi dan tegangan yang terjadi masih memenuhi code ASME B31.3. Berdasarkan analisa biayanya disain alternatif satu menjadi pilihan dengan nilai keekonomian yang paling baik jika dibandingkan dengan disain yang lain.


ABSTRACT

Piping systems play an important role in oil and gas or chemicals industries. Due to their important function for transfering fluid from one place to another the piping system must be able to withstand all loads acting on them assuming there are no excessive deformation and stress or other failures that can disrupt the whole process. Therefore it is necessary for flexibility and stress analysis in the piping systems. In addition the results of the analysis can then be used to determine the location and type of pipe support which will be installed by considering the economic and safety factors of the piping system according to ASME B31.3 code and fabrication requirements. This thesis deals with a case study on the use of pipe support and the variation of spring pipe support for the Catalyst Residue Cracking to Propylene Project PT. PERTAMINA PERSERO in collaboration with PT. Rekayasa Industri. The analysis has been conducted numerically by using a software CAESAR 5.1 on both existing and alternative design by taking a variation on location and type of spring pipe support. The results show that for both existing and alternative designs using 2 pipe support types of spring the deformation and stress occurred in the piping system still meet the criteria of ASME B31.3 code and fabrication requirements. Base on the cost analysis design alternative 1 was selected due to its a minimum economic value compared to other designs.
