Penelitian ini mengenai pengendalian sistem sintesis metanol untuk menghasilkan karbon efisiensi yang stabil, menentukan parameter tuning terbaik bagi ketiga struktur pengendalian, serta membandingkan ketiganya untuk mendapatkan susunan pengendalian yang terbaik. Untuk itu dilakukan simulasi pengendalian pada 7 controlled variable menggunakan tiga struktur pengendalian, yaitu Proportional-Integral, Proportional-Integral-Derivative, dan Model Predictive Control. Gangguan yang diberikan pada penelitian ini sebesar +10% dan -10% pada komposisi CO2 aliran feed. Untuk menentukan pengendali yang paling baik digunakan perbandingan nilai IAE masing-masing pengendali. Dari simulasi ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ketiga struktur pengendali menghasilkan karbon efisiensi yang cukup stabil, dan susunan pengendalian MPC merupakan susunan pengendali terbaik karena memiliki IAE yang paling kecil.

This research controlling methanol synthesis process aims to get a steady carbon conversion, estimate tuning parameters, and compare between three control systems to decide which one is the best. To obtain those, the simulation controls 7 process variables using three control systems, Proportional Integral, Proportional Integral Derivative, and Model Predictive Control. The disturbance used in this research is the changes of CO2 feed composition by +10% and -10%. To decide which system is the best, we compare each IAE value. From this evaluation we can conclude that each control systems shows a good controlled carbon efficiency, and MPC is the best controller to obtain this research aims with its lowest IAE value.
