EFFECT OF LEACHATE CONTAINING LIME RECIRCULATION ON SOLID WASTE DEGRADATION IN GUNONG MADDAH LANDFILL SAMPANG MADURA

ABSTRAK

TPA Gunong Maddah yang merupakan TPA terbesar di Kabupaten Sampang terletak di area perbukitan yang berada diatas daerah resapan air. Lindi dari TPA ini mengandung zat organik BOD dan COD tinggi serta konsentrasi kapur tinggi yaitu sebesar 200 mgL. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh resirkulasi lindi mengandung kapur terhadap laju degradasi sampah. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan 9 reaktor anaerobik yang terdiri dari 3 reaktor kontrol R1 R2 dan R6 serta 6 reaktor dengan variasi lapisan batu kapur berbeda. Ketebalan lapisan batu kapur yaitu 3 6 dan 10 cm. Debit resirkulasi yang diberikan yaitu 240 mLmenit dan 480 mLmenit. Resirkulasi dilakukan 30 menit perhari selama 30 hari. Resirkulasi lindi yang mengandung kapur berpengaruh terhadap kualitas efluen lindi produksi gas metan dan laju degradasi sampah. Reaktor dengan hasil terbaik yaitu dengan debit resirkulasi 240 mLmenit dan ketebalan batu kapur 6 cm. Efisiensi penurunan BOD dan COD terbesar berturut-turut yaitu 95 dan 96. Efisiensi penurunan Fe dan Mn terbesar berturut-turut yaitu 6439 dan 99. Yield produksi gas metan terbesar yaitu 484 dan laju degradasi sampah terbesar yaitu 0108 kghari.


ABSTRACT

The Gunong Maddah landfill which was the largest final disposal area in Sampang regency is located in the hills area above water absorption area. Leachate from this final disposal area has high organic matter BOD and COD with high concentration of lime about 200 mgL. This research was conducted in order to learn the effect of leachate containing lime recirculation on solid waste degradation rate. The research conducted by using 9 anaerobic reactor which consisted of 3 control reactor R1 R2 R6 and 6 reactor which given variation in the thickness of limestone liner. The thickness of limestone liner were 3 6 and 10 cm. Recirculation inflow rate were 240 mLminute and 480 mLminute. The recirculation was done for 30 minute per day for 30 days. Recirculation of leachate which containing lime affected the quality of effluent leachate methane gas yield and solid waste degradation rate. The reactor which has the best result were the one with thickness of limestone was 6 cm and 240 mLmenit recirculation inflow rate. The highest efficiency of BOD and COD decrease respectively were 95 and 96. The highest efficiency of heavy metal Fe and Mn decrease respectively were 6439 and 99. The highest methane gas yield was 484 and highest solid waste degradation rate was 0108 kgday.
