ABSTRAK

Buoy merupakan salah satu bangunan apung yang digunakan untuk menambatkan kapal pada saat berlabuh di laut. Buoy ini ditambatkan ke dasar laut dengan menggunakan chain rantai atau wire rope atau kombinasi keduanya sehingga rentan mengalami putus. Putusnya mooring line ini terjadi setelah mengalami kelelahan akibat beban siklis yang diakibatkan gelombang angin arus dan konfigurasi mooring line yang ada tidak kuat menahan beban yang terjadi. Putusnya mooring line pada single point mooring saat utility support vessel berlabuh dapat membahayakan keselamatan para awak kapal dan kapal dapat tertabrak dengan floating structure lainnya. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui berapa besar tegangan maksimal yang dialami oleh chain line akibat pengurangan dimensi chain line sebesar 5 10 15. Tension yang diijinkan hanya tidak melebihi dari minimum breaking load. Chain line dengan pengurangan dimensi sebesar 15 menunjukkan tension terbesar dengan nilai 2730857 kN terjadi pada heading 00. Tegangan yang dialami oleh chain line masih memenuhi safety factor kondisi intact ULS yaitu lebih besar dari 167 sesuai dengan API RP 2SK 2nd edition.


ABSTRACT

Buoy is one of floating structures used to moor a vessel when docking on the sea. This buoy is moored on the sea bottom by means of a chain or wire rope or the combination of both which is susceptible to being broken off. This broken mooring line is due to fatigue of enduring a cycle load caused by wave wind and tide and the mooring line configuration itself is not strong enough to endure such load. Such a broken mooring line of single point mooring when the utility support vessel is docking may endanger the safety of ship crews since the ship is susceptible to being hit by other floating structures. This final assignment is aimed to find out how much the maximal tension experienced by such chain line is when the chain line dimension is reduced to 5 10 and 15. The permitted tension cannot be more than the minimum breaking load. Chain line which dimension is reduced to 15 shows the biggest tension of 273.0857 kN at heading of 00. Such tension experienced by the chain line still meets the safety factor of intact condition ULS that is above 1.67 which conforms to API RP 2SK 2nd edition.
