ESTIMASI MOMENT TENSOR DAN POLA BIDANG SESAR PADA ZONA SUBDUKSI DI WILAYAH SUMATERA UTARA PERIODE 2012-2014

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini mengestimasi tentang pola bidang patahan yang didapat dari focal mechanism gempa dan momen tensor pada tiap event di Sumatera Utara pada periode 2012-2014. Hal ini dikarenakan Sumatera Utara berada pada zona subduksi antara Lempeng Eurasia dan Indo-Australia yang mana terjadi penunjaman Lempeng Eurasia dibawah Indo-Australia. Untuk mendapatkan besar momen tensor dan focal mechanism-nya memakai program ISOLA-GUI dengan menghitung Fungsi Green dan melakukan proses inversi untuk mendapatkan momen tensor dan focal mechanism gempa. Bentuk focal mechanism ditunjukkan dalam bentuk solusi moment tensor yang lebih dikenal dengan bentuk beach ball. Dari hasil perhitungan focal mechanism ditentukan bidang patahan dan besar slip dari sesar. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mempunyai magnituda lebih dari sama dengan 56 Skala Ritcher. Pola bidang sesar yang terbentuk adalah dip-slip jenis vertical dan reverse fault di zona subduksi dan strike slip di sekitar patahan Sumatra. Dengan besar rentang momen tensor untuk masing-masing komponennya sebesar M11 2.08 exp17 sampai 1.3 exp18 M22 1.28 exp17 sampai 1.31 exp18 M33 6.4 exp16 sampai 6.58 exp17 M31 8.45 exp16 sampai 7.14 exp18 M32 5.7 exp16 sampai 7.405 exp18 dan M12 9.79 exp16 sampai 1.045 exp18. Sedangkan untuk besar slip dari event gempa di Sumatera Utara event 01-05-2014 menghasilkan slip sebesar 005 m. Event 01-12- 2013 menghasilkan slip sebesar 022 m. Event 02-07-2013 menghasilkan slip sebesar 030 m. Event pada 21-01-2013 menghasilkan slip sebesar 026 m. Event pada 10-01-2013 menghasilkan slip sebesar 004 m. Event pada 25-07-2012 menghasilkan slip sebesar 035 m.


ABSTRACT

This research estimated the pattern of fault plane from focal mechanism and moment tensor in each event in Northern Sumatera on 2012-2014. This is caused from North Sumatra is located in subduction zone between the Eurasian Plate and the Indo-Australian whichever occurs subduction under the Eurasian Plate Indo-Australian. The magnitude of moment tensor and the focal mechanism available from ISOLA-GUI Program using Green Function and inversion proses. The pattern of focal mechanism is shown in the form of moment tensor solutions as beach ball type. From the results of the calculation of focal mechanism can shown fault plane and slip from fault. The magnitude of earthquake that is used in this research more than equal to 5.6 SR. The fault plane in this research are dip-slip with vertical type reverse type in subduction zone and strike slip fault in Sumatra fault. The magnitude of each component of moment tensor has range for M11 2.08 exp17 until 1.3 exp18 M22 1.28 exp17 until 1.31 exp18 M33 6.4 exp16 until 6.58 exp17 M31 8.45 exp16 until 7.14 exp18 M32 5.7 exp16 until 7.405 exp18 and M12 9.79 exp16 until 1.045 exp18. Slip of each event in Northern Sumatra on event 01-05-2014 is 005 m. Event 01-12-2013 is 022 m. Event 02-07-2013 is 030 m. Event 21-01- 2013 is 026 m. Event 10-01-2013 is 004 m. Event 25-07-2012 is 035 m.
