ABSTRAK

Rekoveri tembaga dari batuan mineral menggunakan metode elektrolisis telah diteliti. Penelitian ini bertujuan merekoveri tembaga dari batuan mineral yang berasal dari Desa Panggungwuni kota Tulungagung Jawa Timur menggunakan metode elektrolisis. Batuan mineral dihaluskan dan dilakukan pelindian menggunakan H2SO4 dengan rasio 115 wv pada variasi konsentrasi H2SO4 10 20 30 dan 40. Hasil analisa AAS menunjukkan bahwa kadar logam Cu yang paling banyak yaitu pada pelindian menggunakan H2SO4 10. Selanjutnya dilakukan elektrolisis pada masing-masing filtrat dengan menggunakan katoda stainless steel dan anoda batang grafit pada tegangan 6 V selama 7 jam. Hasil elektrolisis menunjukkan bahwa tembaga yang menempel pada katoda yang paling banyak adalah pada H2SO4 20. Sehingga pada penelitian ini dilakukan pelindian batuan menggunakan H2SO4 10 dan sebelum dielektrolisis pH larutan diatur menjadi 125 sesuai dengan pH larutan yang menggunakan H2SO4 20 sehingga diperoleh tembaga yang maksimal dengan prosen rekoveri sebesar 7788 . Hasil analisis XRF menunjukkan bahwa endapan tembaga yang dihasilkan memiliki kemurnian 9836 setelah 6 jam elektrolisis dan 9795 setelah jam ke-7 proses elektrolisis.


ABSTRACT

Copper recovery from mineral by electrolysis method has been studied. The purpose of this study is to recovery of copper from mineral from Tulungagung East Java by electrolysis method. Mineral sample was crushed and dissolved in H2SO4 with sample and solvent ratio 11.5 wv. 10 20 30 and 40 H2SO4 solution was optimized. AAS analysis showed that the highest Cu recovery was reached on leaching by H2SO4 10. Electrolysis was carried out using stainless steel cathode and graphite anode at 6 V for 7 hours. The highest copper recovery was reached using H2SO4 20. In this study mineral rock leaching was carried out using H2SO4 10 and before electrolysis the pH was controlled at 1.25 as the pH of H2SO4 20. Optimum copper recovery was 77.88. The result of XRF analysis showed that the purity of copper obtained was 98.36 after 6 hours and 97.95 after 7 hours electrolysis process.
