ABSTRAK

Sintesis karakterisasi dan aplikasi NiOMgF2 sebagai katalis heterogen untuk sintesis metil ester dalam bentuk metil palmitat dan metil stearat telah diamati dalam penelitian ini. Katalis NiOMgF2 dengan variasi loading Ni 25 5 75 10 dan 15 ww disintesis dengan metode impregnasi. Katalis dikarakterisasi dengan difraksi sinar-X XRD. Luas permukaan SBET katalis diukur dengan metode adsorpsi gas nitrogen dan keasaman katalis dengan metode adsorpsi piridin FT-IR. Hasil uji katalisis dianalisis dengan kromatografi gas. Hasil karakterisasi XRD menunjukkan bahwa struktur kristal NiO bersistem kubik sedangkan MgF2 dan NiOMgF2 bersistem tetragonal. Katalis memiliki sifat asam Lewis. Luas permukaan katalis semakin rendah dengan penambahan loading Ni yang semakin banyak. Hasil katalisis dipengaruhi oleh keasaman dan kristalinitas katalis. Hasil optimum yield metil ester sebesar 8437 dan TOF katalis sebesar 51275 s-1 diperoleh dengan katalis 10 NiOMgF2.


ABSTRACT

Synthesis characterization and application of NiOMgF2 as heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of methyl ester such as methyl palmitate and methyl stearate were investigated in this research. NiOMgF2 catalysts with Ni loading variation of 25 5 75 10 and 15 ww were synthesized by impregnation method. The catalysts were characterized by XRD. The specific surface area SBET of catalysts were measured by N2 gas adsorption and the acidity properties were determined by FT-IR pyridine adsorption. The performance of catalysts were analyzed by Gas Chromatography GC. The XRD characterization showed cubic system for NiO and tetragonal system for MgF2 and NiOMgF2. The catalysts had Lewis acid properties. The performance of catalysts in the synthesis of methyl ester was influenced by acidity and crystallinity of catalysts. The optimum yield of methyl ester and TOF of catalysts were equal to 8437 and 51275 s-1 respectively for 10 NiOMgF2.
