EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF GENERATOR LOAD EFFECT OF ORGANIC RANKINE CYCLE ORC SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

ABSTRAK

Sistem pembangkit listrik telah berinovasi pada saat ini untuk tetap memenuhi kebutuhan akan ketersediaan listrik salah satunya dengan Organic Rankine Cycle ORC. Sistem ini terdiri dari empat komponen utama yaitu evaporator turbin kondensor dan pompa. Fluida kerja dipompa ke evaporator untuk membangkitkan uap lalu digunakan menggerakkan turbin. Uap hasil ekspansi turbin dikondensasi dan dialirkan oleh pompa kembali ke evaporator. Sistem ini mampu memanfaatkan sumber energi yang memiliki temperatur dan tekanan rendah untuk membangkitkan uap fluida organik. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membuat desain sistem Organic Rankine Cycle ORC serta bagaimana pengaruh pembebanan generator terhadap performa sistem. Mula-mula dilakukan uji kebocoran lalu dilakukan pengambilan data temperatur dan tekanan pada 4 titik yang diamati dengan thermocouple dan pressure gauge serta pemasangan flowmeter dengan variasi pembebanan generator yang dilakukan dari beban kosong hingga generator tidak lagi berputar dengan indicator penyalaan lampu yang akan digunakan untuk mengetahui daya pompa Q evaporator Q condenser daya turbin efisiensi siklus heat transfer condensor dengan metode NTU.


ABSTRACT

Power plant system still depend on fossil fuel that less avaibility for using electricity energy production. Hence need inovation to keep fill requirement about electricity avaibility one of the ways with Organic Rankine Cycle ORC. This system consist of four main component that is evaporator turbine condenser and pump. Working fluid pumped to evaporator for producing steam then used to moving turbine. Turbine expansion steam condensed and flowed by pump back to evaporator. This system utilizable energy source that own the temperature and low pressure to produce organic fluid steam. This experiment do to make system design of Organic Rankine Cycle ORC and how its effect and condenser performance that used. First of all leakage test will to do then temperature and pressure data on 4 point that concerned will be take with thermocouple and pressure gauge and flowmeter assembly for detect flow to know pump power Q evaporator Q condenser turbine power cycle efficiency and condensor heat transfer with NTU method.
