ABSTRAK

Saat ini produk-produk plastik menjadi produk yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan kita sehari-hari. Produk plastik juga digunakan secara luas di berbagai sektor industri. Salah satu proses manufaktur yang banyak digunakan untuk pengolahan material plastik adalah proses injection molding. Kualitas produk yang dibentuk tergantung pada beberapa parameter proses antara lain temperatur nozzle dan silinder tekanan injeksi dan holding switch over point kecepatan injeksi dan back pressure. Oleh karena itu pengaturan parameterparameter yang optimal sangat penting untuk meningkatkan produktivitas kualitas produk dan mengefisiensikan biaya produksi. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada optimasi multi karakteristik kualitas produk pengikat kabel dengan material polypropylene PP. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui besarnya kontribusi dari faktor kontrol dalam mengurangi variasi dari variabel respon secara serentak dan menentukan kombinasi dari faktor kontrol agar dapat dihasilkan variabel respon yang optimal. Nozzle temperature injection pressure injection flow dan switch-over to holding pressure digunakan sebagai faktor kontrol sedangkan berat produk dan flash serta kekuatan tarik pengikat kabel dipilih sebagai variabel respon. Kombinasi metode Taguchi grey relational analysis GRA dan logika fuzzy digunakan sebagai metode optimasi. Berdasarkan metode Taguchi rancangan eksperimen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah matriks ortogonal L9. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor kontrol mempengaruhi variasi dari variabel respon berat produk dan flash serta kekuatan tarik pengikat kabel. Kontribusi faktor kontrol dalam mengurangi variasi dari variabel respon yang diamati secara serentak adalah nozzle temperature sebesar 273 injection pressure sebesar 184 injection flow sebesar 422 dan switch-over to holding pressure sebesar 121. Pengaturan parameter proses nozzle temperature injection pressure injection flow dan switch-over to holding pressure yang dihasilkan dari proses optimasi berturut-turut adalah 250 C 1200 bar 35 cm3s dan 125 cm3.


ABSTRACT

Nowadays plastic products are becoming very important products in our daily life. They are also commonly used in various industrial sectors. One of the manufacturing process that is widely employed for processing plastic material is an injection molding process. The quality of the injection molded parts depends upon several process parameters including nozzle and cylinder temperature injection and holding pressures switch over point injection speed back pressure etc. Therefore it is imperative to have an optimum setting of process parameters in order to improve productivity product quality and streamline production costs. This study focused on the optimization of cable tie product quality characteristics with the material of polypropylene PP. The objectives of this study were to determine the contribution of control factors in reducing the variation of the response variables simultaneously and determine the combination of control factors in order to produce an optimal response variable. Several process parameters i.e. control nozzle temperature injection pressure injection flow and the switch-over to holding pressure were used as the control factors whereas product and flash weight as well as the tensile strength of the cable tie were selected to be the response variables. Combination of Taguchi method grey relational analysis GRA and fuzzy logic was employed as the optimization method. Based on the Taguchi method the experimental design used in this research was orthogonal L9. The experiment results indicated that the control factors affecting the variation of the response variables of product and flash weight as well as the tensile strength of the cable tie. The contribution of control factors in reducing the variation of the response variables observed simultaneously were 27.3 of nozzle temperature 18.4 of injection pressure 42.3 of injection flow and the switch-over to holding pressure by 12.1. The process parameters setting of nozzle temperature injection pressure flow injection and the switch-over to holding pressure yielded from optimization process was found to be 250 C 1200 bar 35 cm3s and 12.5 cm3 respectively.
