ABSTRAK

Protokol routing sangat berperan pada jaring data multi jalur saat terjadi komunikasi data. Perannya dalam pemilihan jalur paling optimal membantu proses pengiriman data dari sumber ke tujuan menjadi lebih efektif. Pemilihan jalur paling optimal bergantung pada algoritma routing yang bekerja pada perangkat di jaring data tersebut. Tidak optimalnya jalur yang dilalui akan berpengaruh pada proses pengiriman data baik dari sisi waktu maupun kualitas penyampaian data. Penggunaan protocol routing yang sesuai pada jaring data multi jalur akan membatu proses pengiriman data menjadi lebih efisien. Tesis ini mengusulkan metoda routing yang berdasarkan algoritma Ant Colony Optimization yaitu yang dikenal dengan AntNet. Algoritma AntNet disimulasikan pada jaring data multi jalur dengan menggunakan program simulasi NS-2. Parameter-parameter yang mempengaruhi kinerja routing seperti beban packet ukuran bandwidth serta kondisi jalur dibuat bervariasi. Hasil kinerjanya kemudian dibandingkan dengan algoritma routing lain yaitu algoritma berbasis LinkState. Hasil dari pengujian dengan simulasi untuk kedua algoritma memberikan hasil bahwa dari sisi throughput LinkState lebih baik dari AntNet dengan selisih sebesar 26 pada scenario jalur normal. Sedangkan pada scenario jalur terputus AntNet lebih baik dari linkstate dengan selisih 35. Untuk parameter delay hasil pengujian menunjukkan LinksState lebih baik dengan perbedaaan sebesar 263 . Pengujian lain berupa routing overhead menunjukkan perbedaan cukup significant yaitu sebesar 96 untuk LinkState yang lebih baik.


ABSTRACT

Routing protocol plays an important role in multi-path data network during data communication. Its role in the selection of the optimal path assisting with the delivery of data from the source to the destination becomes more effective. Selection of the optimal path depends on the routing algorithm that works on the device in the data network. With no optimal path through which will affect the process of sending data both in time and quality of data delivery. The use of an appropriate routing protocol in multi-path data network will help the data transmission process become more efficient. This thesis proposes a method of routing algorithm based on Ant Colony Optimization which is known as AntNet. AntNet algorithm is simulated on a multi-path data network simulation program NS-2. The parameters that affect performance such as load packet routing the size of the bandwidth as well as track conditions be varied to obtain performance results are then compared with other routing algorithms namely algorithms based LinkState. Results of testing with simulations for both algorithms provide results that in terms of throughput LinkState better than AntNet by a margin of 2.6 on the normal path scenario. While the scenario path is interrupted AntNet better than linkstate by a margin of 3.5. For the delay parameter the test results indicate differences LinksState better with 26.3. Tests showed another form of routing overhead is quite significant differences in the amount of 96 for better LinkState.
