Description:

Berdasarkan standar IEEE 1584-2002 yang mengatur tentang analisa bahaya busur api (arc-flash) pada sistem tegangan rendah dan menengah, pengguna dapat dengan mudah menentukan batas keamanan untuk para pekerja. Namun, perlu diperhatikan bahwa standar yang ada diperoleh dari hasil pengukuran insiden energi busur api pada kondisi tertentu dan dikombinasikan dengan teori. Menurut rekomendasi standar IEEE, perhitungan arus hubung singkat selalu memperhatikan kontribusi arus gangguan dari generator, motor induksi dan sinkron. Besar kecilnya energi arc-flash dapat ditentukan dari beberapa sudut pandang. Diantaranya ialah nilai energi arc-flash akan besar apabila dihitung dengan menggunakan arus bolted three-phase fault, sedangkan dari sudut pandang arc-clearing time yang didapat dari waktu dimana arus gangguan saat itu terjadi akan menghasilkan nilai energi busur api yang lebih rendah. Hal ini memunculkan metode perhitungan modifikasi yang didasarkan pada perhitungan kontribusi arus hubung singkat dan waktu pemadaman busur api (arc-clearing time) sehingga besar energi busur api yang dihasilkan lebih rendah dari standar IEEE 1584-2002. Hal tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan untuk perbaikan sistem pengaman.

Based on the IEEE 1584-2002 standards governing arc hazard analysis at low and medium voltage systems, the user can easily determine the limit of safety for the workers. However, please note that the existing standards obtained from measurements of the arc energy incident on certain conditions and combined with the theory. According to IEEE standard recommendations, the calculation of short circuit current is always concerned the fault current contribution from the generator, induction and synchronous motor. The value of incident energy arc-flash can be determined from several view points. There are the arc-flash energy will be large when calculated using the current bolted three-phase fault, whereas from the another view point of arc-clearing time that obtained from the time of fault current when it occurs will result lower energy values of arc. This raises a new modified calculation method are based on the contributions short circuit current and the arc extinction time (arc-clearing time) so that the arc of the energy produced lower than standard IEEE 1584-2002. It can be used as reference for the improvement of safety systems.
