ABSTRAK

Modulasi merupakan metode penumpangan sinyal informasi ke dalam sinyal pembawa yang memiliki frekuensi lebih tinggi sehingga metode ini sangat penting dalam proses pengiriman informasi. Salah satu jenis modulasi digital yang sering digunakan adalah QAM Quadrature Amplitude Modulation. QAM membawa data dengan cara mengubah amplitude dari dua gelombang carrier dengan beda fase 90. Modulator dan demodulator M-ary QAM dapat diprogram dengan menggunakan DSP processor. DSK TMS320C6416T adalah suatu boardhardware untuk memproses sinyal yang termasuk dalam keluarga besar prosessor TMS320 produksi Texas Instrument. Dengan ukurannya yang relatif kecil DSK TMS320C6416T dapat dioperasikan dengan daya yang kecil dan portable. Aplikasi umum dengan DSP processor bekerja pada frekuensi 0-96 kHz yang merupakan standar dalam sistem telekomunikasi. Tujuan dari Tugas Akhir ini yaitu melakukan implementasi modulasi dan demodulasi M-ary QAM secara real ke dalam DSP Starter Kit TMS320C6416T. Pemodelan sistemnya di-generate dengan menggunakan software MATLAB sehingga lebih fleksibel untuk mengubah parameter dalam modulator dan demodulator M-ary QAM. Terdapat empat implementasi sistem pada Tugas Akhir ini yaitu sistem dengan input bernoulli binary generator input pulse generator sinyal input dari function generator melalui port Line-In dan input suara melalui port Mic-In. Pengujian dilakukan untuk mengetahui kinerja DSK TMS320C6416T yang ditampilkan dalam bentuk grafik Bit Error Rate terhadap variasi nilai EbN0 dilakukan dengan mengirimkan 100.000 bit. Kinerja terbaik terdapat pada implementasi menggunakan sistem QAM dengan nilai BER mencapai 1.00E-05 pada nilai EbN0880511dB. Sedangkan kinerja terburuk pada semua sistem dengan input dari function generator dengan nilai BER yang tidak mencapai 1.00E-05 dibandingkan dengan sistem yang telah dirancang. Sistem modulasidemodulasi yang terburuk terdapat pada sistem 64-QAM daripada sistem QAM dan 16-QAM menggunakan keempat input diatas jika dibandingkan dengan nilai BER yang sama 1.00E-05.


ABSTRACT

Modulation is a method of laying the information signal into carrier signal that having higher frequency so this method is very important in the process of sending information. One of the digital modulations that often used is QAM Quadrature Amplitude Modulation. QAM carries data by changing the amplitude of two carrier waves with a phase difference of 90. Modulator and demodulator M-ary QAM can be programmed using a DSP processor. DSK TMS320C6416T is a boardhardware for signal processing that included in the big family of TMS320 produced by Texas Instrument. Its relative small size DSK TMS320C6416T can be operated with a small and portable power. In common applications DSP processor is work at a frequency of 096 kHz which is standard in telecommunications systems. The purpose of this Final Project is implemented modulation and demodulation of M-ary QAM in real-time into the DSP Starter Kit TMS320C6416T. Modeling system is generated by using MATLAB software making it more flexible to change parameters of the modulator and demodulator M-ary QAM. There are four implementations on this final project. System with bernoulli binary generator input pulse generator input signal input from function generator through a Line-In port and voice input through a Mic-In port. Tests conducted to determine the performance of DSK TMS320C6416T shown in graphical form Bit Error Rate against the variation of EbN0 performed by sending 100.000 bits. The best performance is found in the implementation using input from DSK of QAM system with a value of BER reaches 1.00E-05 for EbN0880511dB. While the worst performance on all system with function generator input obtain BER values are not reached 1.00E-05 compare than the system that has been designed. The worst of modulation-demodulation system is found at 64-QAM system than QAM and 16-QAM using the four inputs above if compared with the same BER values 1.00E-05.
