ABSTRAK

Steam drum merupakan komponen di dalam boiler yang berfungsi untuk menampung air dalam pembuatan uap. Kualitas dan kuantitas uap yang dihasilkan dipengaruhi oleh laju bahan bakar yang digunakan untuk mendidihkan air serta laju air pada feed water. Agar steam drum boiler dapat bekerja secara maksimal dibutuhkan suatu pengendali untuk mengintegrasikan sistem tersebut. Pada Tugas Akhir ini akan membahas tentang simulasi pengendalian level air dan pressure pada steam drum boiler dengan menggunakan Model Predictive Control MPC. Penggunaan pengendali Model Predictive Control MPC untuk mendapatkan respon yang stabil dan sesuai dengan setpoint yang diinginkankan berdasarkan konsep prediktif control. Setelah diadakan simulasi respon level air dan pressure dengan menggunakan pendekatan persamaan linear menunjukkan nilai yang stabil dan sesuai dengan setpoint pressure 320 PSI dan setpoint level air 0 inchi. Sedangkan respon pengendalian terhadap plant real pressure hanya menunjukkan kestabilannya namun tidak sesuai dengan nilai setpoint yang diinginkan. Plant level air model nonlinear tidak dapat dikendalikan oleh Model Predictive Control MPC sehingga dibutuhkan decoupling dengan tujuan level air hanya tergantung pada laju air umpan. Dengan menggunakan metode decoupling tersebut dapat menghasilkan respon yang stabil dengan nilai steady state -191.1 inchi namun terdapat undershoot sebesar -2400 inchi dengan peak time 13s dan overshoot sebesar 3000 inchi dengan peak time 18s.


ABSTRACT

Steam drum is a component in the boiler which serves to hold water vapor in the making. Quality and quantity of steam produced is influenced by the rate of fuel used to boil water and water rates in the feed water. Boiler steam drum in order to work optimally it takes a controller to integrate these systems. In this Final Project will discuss about the simulation and control of the water level and pressure in the steam drum boiler using a Model Predictive Control MPC. Controllers use Model Predictive Control MPC to obtain a stable and appropriate responses to the desired setpoint based on the concept of predictive control. Subsequent to the simulation the response of water level and pressure by using a linear equation approach shows a stable value and according to the setpoint pressure of 320 PSI and 0 inchi for water level. While the plant response to real pressure control only shows stability but not in accordance with the desired setpoint value. Plant water level nonlinear models can not be controlled by Model Predictive Control MPC so that decoupling is required for the purpose of water level only depends on the rate of feed water. By using the decoupling method can produce a stable response to the steady state value of -191.1 inchi but there is undershoot of-2400inchi with the peak time 13s and overshoot of 3000inchi with the peak time 18s.
