ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh perbandingan batubara dan tandan kosong kelapa sawit dan temperature terhadap perolehan yield tar hasil co-pirolisa. Batubara yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berasal dari Kelurahan Batuah KM.32 Samarinda Seberang dan Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit yang digunakan berasal dari perkebunan kelapa sawit yang terletak di Kelurahan Babulu Penajam Paser Utara Kalimantan Timur. Proses co-pirolisa ini berjalan selama satu jam. Gas pembawa bahan volatile yang digunakan yaitu nitrogen. Bahan volatile yang keluar sebagian akan terkondensasi oleh kondensor menjadi tar dan sebagian lagi berupa gas-gas noncondensable. Tar ditampung pada penampung tar. Proses dihentikan apabila sudah tidak ada lagi tar maupun gas yang terbentuk. Komposisi tar hasil pirolisa dianalisa menggunakan GC-MS. Pada penelitian ini temperatur dan blending ratio sangat berpengaruh dalam perolehan yield tar. Semakin tinggi temperatur yang digunakan maka yield tar yang diperoleh juga semakin besar. Akan tetapi ada beberapa variabel yang mengalami penurunan pada perolehan yield tar hal ini dikarenakan adanya secondary cracking pada tar dan membentuk gas yang lebih banyak. Gas yang tidak terkondensasi lebih banyak sehingga menyebabkan perolehan tar menurun. Proses co-pirolisis dapat digunakan untuk memperoleh produk liquid dari batubara dan tandan kosong kelapa sawit. Tandan kosong kelapa sawit memiliki kandungan volatile matter yang lebih tinggi dari pada batubara. Perolehan yield char menurun seiring meningkatnya blending ratio sehingga produk yield liquid tar dan gas meningkat akan tetapi pada suhu diatas 500oC menurun. Perolehan yield char yang menurun juga seiring meningkatnya suhu sehingga perolehan yield produk volatile meningkat.


ABSTRACT

This research aims to study the effect of the comparison of coal and oil palm empty fruit bunches and the temperature of the tar yield gain co-pyrolysis results. Coal used in this research came from the Village Batuah Samarinda Seberang KM.32 and oil palm empty fruit bunches is derived from oil palm plantations are located in the Village Babulu Paser Penajam North East Kalimantan. The process of co-pyrolysis was conducted for one hour. The carrier gas used in this research is nitrogen. Volatile material which goes out will partly condensed by a condenser becomes tar and partly in the form of the gases noncondensable. Tar accommodated on a reservoir of tar. Process discountinued if there is no more tar and gas that forms. The composition of the tar pyrolysis was analyzed using GC-MS. In this research temperature and blending ratio is very influential in the yield of tar. The higher the temperature used the bigger the yield of tar obtained. But there is some variable which resulted in the decrease of the yield of tar it is due to the secondary cracking at tar and forming more gas. The Gas is not condensed causing tar yield decreased. The yield of tar at the temperature of 300C and 400C was increased along with the increasing blending ratio while at temperature 500C 600C and 700C was decrease along with the increasing the blending ratio. The highest yield of tar were obtain at blending ratio tkks bb 75 25 and at temperature 400C of 3534 this is because when entering the feed a lot more gas comes out causing imperfect condensation.
