STUDI PENINGKATAN YIELD TAR MELALUI CO-PIROLISA BATUBARA KUALITAS RENDAH DAN TANDAN KOSONG KELAPA SAWIT

ABSTRAK

Indonesia sebagai salah satu negara dengan sumber daya alam berupa batu bara dan tandan kosong kelapa sawit yang melimpah. Sehingga perlu upaya untuk mengkonversi batubara menjadi bahan bakar cair melalui teknologi pencairan. Salah satu metode yang tepat adalah pirolisis. Pada umumnya pirolisis digunakan untuk memproduksi bahan bakar liquid maupun bahan kimia lainnya namun yield produk masih rendah karena perbandingan hidrogen dan karbon yang rendah. Oleh karena itu untuk meningkatkan yield diperlukan suplay hidrogen dari sumber yang lain dalam hal ini digunakan tandan kosong kelapa sawit yang merupakan limbah pertanian yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Pada penelitian ini mempelajari peningkatan yield tar melalui co-pirolisis batubara kualitas rendah dengan tandan kosong kelapa sawit TKKS terhadap perbandingan ratio blending batubara kulitas rendah dengan TKKS dan suhu yang beroperasi. Metode yang digunakan ialah co- pirolisis dimana suhu operasi co-pirolisis ini berkisar 300-7000C. Sebelum memasuki tahap co-pirolisis batubara kualitas rendah dengan tandan kosong kelapa sawit TKKS di reduksi dengan ukuran partikel berkisar 149 m- 238 mm. Kemudian mengatur perbandingan ratio blending batubara kualitas rendah dengan TKKS pada ratio 1000 7525 5050 2575 dan 0100 dengan suhu operasi 300400500600dan 7000C. Dari perbandingan ratio blending batubara kualitas rendah dengan tandan kosong kelapa sawit dan suhu operasi yang berbeda-beda diharapkan co-pirolisis batubara kualitas rendah dengan TKKS ini mampu membentuk yield tar yang lebih banyak yang nantinya yield tar tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai alternatif bahan bakar cair guna menggurangi penggunaan bahan bakar fosil seperti solar dan bensin.Dengan dilakukannya co-pyrolysis Batubara TKKS terdapat efek sinergis pada kondisi operasi antara lain pada suhu 300oC rasio 5050 suhu 300oC rasio 2575 suhu 600 oC rasio 5050 dan suhu 600 oC2575. Perolehan yield tar tertinggi terdapat pada 300 oC rasio 2575 yaitu 1689. Serta Terdapat pengaruh supplay hidrogen terhadap blending ratio yang mempermudah proses pirolisis


ABSTRACT

Indonesia as a country with natural resources such as coal and oil palm empty fruit bunches are abundant. It is necessary efforts to convert coal into liquid fuel through liquefaction technology. One appropriate method is pyrolysis. In general the pyrolysis is used to produce liquid fuels and other chemicals but the yield of products is low due to hydrogen ratio and low carbon. Therefore to increase the yield the necessary supply of hydrogen from other sources in this case used oil palm empty fruit bunches which are agricultural waste that has not been used optimally. This research aims to study the increase in the yield of tar through the co-pyrolysis of low quality coal with oil palm empty fruit bunches TKKS the ratio of low-quality coal blending ratio with TKKS and operating temperature. In this study the method used is the co-pyrolysis in which the co-operation of the pyrolysis temperature ranges 300-7000C. Before entering the stage of co-pyrolysis of low quality coal with oil palm empty fruit bunches TKKS in the reduction of the particle size range of 149 956m-2.38 mm. Then set the blending ratio comparison of low quality coal with TKKS on ratio 1000 7525 5050 2575 and 0100 with operating temperature 300400500600 and 7000 C. From the comparison of the blending ratio of low quality coal with oil palm empty fruit bunches and operating temperatures varying expected co-pyrolysis of coal is low quality with TKKS able to form a tar yield that will yield more tar can be used as an alternative to liquid fuels to reduce the uses of fossil fuels such as diesel and gasoline. The effect of co-pyrolysis Coal and TKKS are synergistic effect with increasing acquisition TKKS coal tar on the operating conditions among others at a temperature of 300C the ratio of 5050 temperature of 300 C the ratio of 2575 temperature of 600 C the ratio of 5050 and temperature of 600 C the ratio of 2575 . Acquisition of tar yield is highest at a temperature of 300 C is 1689 ratio of 2575. As well as the influences of supplay blending ratio of hydrogen to simplify the process of pyrolysis.
