ABSTRACT

Performance analysis cooling tower induced draft LBC W- 300 has been done using heat and mass transfer analysis it is employed to derive the mathematic model then to simulate cooling tower process. The result shows that the output cooling tower temperature is influenced by fluctuating dry bulb and wet bulb temperature. The optimum performance is 27.91C at 7 am when dry bulb 26.6C during summer. During rainy season the performance is higher compared to summer. The temperature is 25.87C at 7 am when dry bulb 25.5C. The efficiency of cooling tower are 41 - 72 during summer and 60 - 80 during rainy season. The performance of cooling tower can be enhanced by increasing the velocity fan to 1550 rpm and decreasing the water mass flow rate to 18.12 kgs. So that the fan power can be enhanced to 7.96 kW and the efficiency of cooling tower can be optimized to 81.63
