THE DEVELOPMENT OF OPERATIONAL REVERSE LOGISTICS MODEL IN REUSE OF BICYCLE PACKAGING

ABSTRAK

Dalam rangka menjawab isu seputar lingkungan mulai banyak industri manufaktur yang menerapkan konsep green-operation sebagai salah satu strategi bisnis. Kemasan merupakan elemen yang dapat dihemat oleh industri manufaktur sepeda sebagai bagian dari green-operation tersebut. Rencana penghematan dilakukan terhadap kegiatan pengadaan kotak kardus kemasan sepeda dengan cara menerapkan salah satu elemen reverse logistics RL yaitu penggunaan kembali reused returned packaging. Namun sebelum rencana tersebut direalisasikan maka akan dilakukan sebuah analisis aspek ekonomis melalui pengembangan model matematis berbasis RL terhadap penggunaan kembali returned packaging dibandingkan dengan penggunaan disposable packaging. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan keputusan operasional terkait jumlah ukuran dan kualitas returned packaging yang optimal. Keputusan operasional ini akan dijadikan acuan dalam rencana penerapan RL di masa mendatang. Penelitian yang dilakukan mempertimbangkan pemberian insentif kepada retailer bergantung pada jumlah ukuran dan kualitas returned packaging. Hasil implementasi model terhadap sejumlah parameter diperoleh nilai penghematan yang signifikan pada seluruh tipe dan ukuran kotak kardus. Nilai penghematan bervariasi 40 - 75 untuk berbagai tipe dan ukuran kotak kardus sepeda. Biaya total RL returned packaging lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan biaya pengadaan disposable packaging seluruh tipe dan ukuran. Nilai penghematan pada periode Februari mencapai 5354 dan pada periode September mencapai 59. Nilai insentif dijaga seoptimal mungkin agar return ratio semaksimal mungkin dan kegiatan RL kemasan ini dapat terus berjalan. Dengan mempertimbangkan kemungkinan eliminasi biaya transportasi akibat kegiatan pickup-delivery FL diperoleh bahwa implementasi model semakin laik karena biaya total lebih rendah dibandingkan sebelumnya.


ABSTRACT

In order to answer the environmental issues many manufacturing industry implement green-operation concepts as a business strategy. Packaging is an element that can be reduced significantly by bicycle manufacturing industries as part of the green-operation concepts.The saving plans will involve implementation of reverse logistics element such as return and reuse policies. To realize the return and reuse plan economical analysis are needed. In this research a mathemathical model based on RL for packaging and reuse will be developed to evaluate its implementation feasibility. This research aims to generate operational decisions on optimum quantity size and quality of returned packaging the most optimal. Those decisions will be used as a reference in the RL implementation plan in the future. The research consider providing incentives to retailers depend on the quantity size and quality of the returned packaging. The results of proposed model towards number of parameters obtained significant savings on all types and sizes of cardboard boxes. Savings value gained varies for different types and sizes of cardboard bicycle box. Saving margins varies 40 to 75 for different types and sizes of cardboard bicycle box. Total cost of RL returned packaging for all types and sizes are much lower than the cost of procurement of all types and sizes of disposable packaging. Savings can reach 53.54 on February period and 59 on September period. It also obtained the optimal incentive value for each type and size cardboard bicycle box. Incentive value optimally maintained so that the return ratio can be maintained maximum and RL activities can run continuously. Considering the possibility of transportation cost elimination as a result of the FL pickup-delivery activities showed that the RL model is more feasible since the total cost gained lower than before.
