PENELITIAN AWAL KEMUNGKINAN PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH PT.PETROKIMIA GRESIK SEBAGAI BAHAN TAMBAH DALAM PEMBUATAN BATAKO

THE PRELIMINARY RESEARCH ON THE POSSIBILITY USE OF A PT. PETROKIMIA GRESIK WASTE UTILIZATION AS AN ADDITIONAL MATERIAL IN MAKING BRICK

ABSTRAK

Limbah pabrik pupuk phosphogypsum adalah produk sampingan dari pabrik pupuk fosfat dan industri kimia. Kandungan kimia phosphogypsum antara lain unsur senyawa SiO2 Al2O3 dan Fe2O3 sama dengan 247 lebih kecil dari 70 maka dapat dikategorikan dalam pozollan tipe C. Dalam penelitian proyek akhir ini phosphogypsum ditambahkan pada komposisi campuran batako dengan mengurangi penggunaan semen. Disain komposisi campuran batako menggunakan tata cara pembuatan rencana campuran bata beton berlubang SII.0285-80. Benda uji yang digunakan dalam penelitian awal menggunakan mortar ukuran 5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm. Variasi persentase tambahan phosphogypsum pada komposisi campuran batako sebesar 15 dan 16 dengan rasio terhadap berat total campuran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tambahan phosphogypsum mempunyai pengaruh yang dapat mengurangi penggunaan semen. Pada penambahan proporsi limbah 15 dengan faktor air semen 045 menghasilkan kuat tekan sebesar 2848 kgcm yang dapat dikategorikan dalam batako mutu HB20.


ABSTRACT

A waste fertilizer factory phosphogypsum is a byproduct of phosphate fertilizer plants and chemical industries. Chemical Phosphogypsums elements are including compound SiO2 Al2O3 and Fe2O3 equal to 2.47 less than 70 it could be categorized as pozollan type C. In the end of the research project phosphogypsum was added to the mixture composition to reduce the use of cement brick. The design of brick mixture composition was using the procedure of making plans mixed by concrete hollow brick SII.0285-80. Sample used in the initial study was using a mortar in size of 5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm. Additional percentage of variation in the composition of the brick mixture phosphogypsum by 75 and 80 within a ratio of the binder weight. Results of this study indicate that additional phosphogypsum could reduce the use of cement. On the addition of 75 the proportion of waste water by a factor of 0.45 produces cement compressive strength of 28.48 kg cm which can be categorized in quality of brick HB20.
