PEMANFAATAN LUMPUR SIDOARJO DAN FLY ASH SEBAGAI FINE ALWA PADA AAC DENGAN PASTA BERBAHAN DASAR LUMPUR SIDOARJO DENGAN TAMBAHAN GYPSUM DAN FOAM

UTILIZATION SIDOARJO MUD AND FLY ASH AS FINE ALWA ON AAC WITH PASTA FROM SIDOARJO MUD BY ADDING GYPSUM AND FOAM

ABSTRAK

Berdasarkan penelitian dan karakteristiknya lumpur Sidoarjo Lusi berpotensi dijadikan sebagai agregat ringan buatan fine ALWA. Saat ini bahan dasar yang paling sering untuk membuat fine ALWA Artificial Lightweight Aggregates adalah tanah liat. Lusi memiliki dua fungsi antara lain sebagai filler atau sebagai binder. Sedangkan pemanfaatan Lusi sebagai filler saat ini hanya sebagai agregat kasar buatan pada beton normal. Maka pada penelitian ini Lusi digunakan sebagai pozolan dan menonjolkan fungsinya sebagai agregat ringan pada beton ringan AAC Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Pembuatan ALWA dilakukan dengan cara manual. Lusi yang ditambahkan fly ash dan air dicetak ke dalam cetakan silinder 510 kemudian dibakar dengan mesin furnis. Variasi yang digunakan F-x-y-z dimana x adalah penambahan fly ash 0 30 50 y adalah suhu pembakaran 800C 1000C 1050C dan z adalah durasi pembakaran 10 menit 4 jam 6 jam. Untuk mendapatkan fine ALWA maka ALWA yang sudah dibakar dihancurkan secara manual untuk memperoleh butiran yang memenuhi syarat jika digunakan sebagai filler pada mortar. Lusi yang dibakar pada suhu 800C selama 6 jam digunakan sebagai bahan dasar pasta ringan dengan menambahkan OPC kapur gypsum dan foam. Fine ALWA tersebut digunakan sebagai pengganti pasir Lumajang pada mortar kemudian dilakukan autoclaving bertekanan 13 bar selama 6 jam untuk mendapatkan beton teraerasi. Fine ALWA teringan adalah FA-50-1050-6 dengan berat jenis 19 gramcm3 mendekati syarat ASTM C330 yaitu 11-18 gramcm3. Secara fisik butiran fine ALWA ini tidak rapuh berwarna coklat matang dan tidak mudah hancur saat ditumbuk. Selanjutnya dipilih fine ALWA ini sebagai filler pada mortar sebagai pembanding dipakai fine ALWA FA-0-1050-6. Mortar FA-50-1050-6 memiliki berat volume rata-rata 0899 gramcm3 dan kuat tekan rata-rata 235 Mpa sedangkan mortar FA-0-1050-6 memiliki berat volume rata-rata 099 gramcm3 dan kuat tekan rata-rata 45 Mpa. Penggantian pasir Lumajang dengan fine ALWA dapat menurunkan berat volume tetapi juga menurunkan kuat tekan pada mortar. Penambahan fly ash sebesar 50 dari berat Lusi pada fine ALWA dapat menurunkan kuat tekan pada mortar sebesar 48.


ABSTRACT

Based on the previous research and it characteristics Sidoarjo mud Lusi is potentially used as fine Artifcial Lightweight Aggregate ALWA. Currently the most common base material for making the ALWA is clay. Lusi has two functions among others as a filler or as a binder. Currently utilization of Lusi as filler just as artificial coarse aggregate in normal concrete. So in this study was used Lusi as pozolan and offers its function as a lightweight aggregate in AAC autoclaved Aerated Concrete. Making ALWA is done by manual. Lusi was added fly ash and water molded into cylindrical mold 510 and then burned with furnace machine. Variations were used F-x-y-z where x is fly ash variation 0 30 50 y is sintering temperature 800C 1000 C 1050 C and z is sintering duration 10 minutes 4 hours and 6 hours. To get the fine ALWA cylindrical specimen was already burned crushed manually to obtain grains were eligible if used as a filler in mortar. Lusi was also used as a raw material in pasta by adding OPC limestone gypsum and foam agent. Fine ALWA was used as replacement natural sand in lightweight concrete then doing autoclave treatment method 13 bar pressurized for 6 hours to get aerated concrete. The lightest fine ALWA is FA-50-1050-6 with specific gravity 1.9 grcm3 close to the standard of artificial lightweight aggregate 1.1 to 1.8 grcm3. Physically the grains were not brittle brown in color and not easily crushed when it grinded. Furthermore this fine ALWA selected as filler used as a comparison is ALWA FA-0-1050-6. Mortar FA-50-1050-6 has an average of density 0.899 grcm3 and 2.35 MPa as the compressive strength while mortar FA-0-1050-6 has an average of density 0.99 grcm3 and 4.5 MPa as the compressive strength. Replacement the ALWA by natural sand can reduce compressive strength and density of lightweight concrete. The addition 50 fly ash from weight of Lusi in fine ALWA could reduce the compressive strength of mortar at 48.
