ANALYSIS OF VARIATION VOLUMETRIC WATER CONTENT AND RESIDUAL SOIL DEFORMATION AT JOMBOK NGANTANG DISTRICT MALANG

ABSTRAK

Perubahan musim dapat mengakibatkan fluktuasi kadar air pada tanah. Kadar air merupakan faktor terpenting yang dapat mempengaruhi stabilitas lereng akibat curah hujan yang tinggi. Suatu lereng di Desa Jombok Kecamatan Ngantang Kabupaten Malang terkena dampak longsor dikarenakan adanya perubahan kadar air tanah residualnya. Peristiwa ini terjadi sebanyak tiga kali yaitu pada tahun 2009 2010 dan 2011. Fenomena ini penting untuk diteliti sejauh mana pengaruh perubahan kadar air terhadap perilaku kadar air volumetrik tanah dan pergeseran lereng tanahnya. Kestabilan lereng dapat dievaluasi dengan mengamati kadar air volumetrik dan perpindahan geser tanah lereng pada saat musim hujan dengan menggunakan sistem monitoring yang efisien hemat biaya dan sederhana dalam kurun waktu yang cukup lama secara real time yang datanya ditransfer melalui jaringan nirkabel. Unit sensor nirkabel berupa sensor MEMS Micro Electro Mechanical Systems dan sensor kadar air volumetrik diletakkan pada permukaan lereng curam di Desa Jombok. Pengamatan dilakukan selama bulan Februari hingga April 2013 untuk mewakili data pada musim hujan. Perilaku arah pergerakan tanah residual di Desa Jombok yang terjadi pada tiap sensor menunjukkan perbedaan setiap harinya. Deformasi tanah residual di desa Jombok meningkat sesuai dengan kenaikan kadar air volumetriknya. Hasil pembacaan sensor menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi kelongsoran dangkal di Desa Jombok pada tanggal 1 Maret 2013 pada kondisi kadar air volumetrik tertinggi 7158 dan tanah mengalami pergeseran tanah pada sumbu X sebesar 306 dan - 203 pada sumbu Y. Hubungan karakteristik antara kadar air volumetrik dan deformasi tanah lereng dapat diterapkan untuk mengevaluasi kegagalan lereng berdasarkan pemantauan jarak jauh dengan menggunakan gabungan alat sensor kadar air volumetrik dan MEMS sensor.


ABSTRACT

Change of seasons may cause fluctuations at soil water levels. Water content is an important factor that can affect the slope stability due to high rainfall. There has been a landslide in residual soils slopes at Jombok Ngantang district of Malang in 2009 2010 and 2011 due to the change of residual soils water content. This phenomenon is important to investigate the extent of the influence of water content volumetric of the landslide and soil deformation along the slope surface. Slope stability can be evaluated by monitoring volumetric water content and soil deformation during wet season using monitoring system that is efficient effective and simple in a period of time long enough in real time and the data transferred over the wireless network. Wireless unit sensor MEMS Micro Electro Mechanical Systems and volumetric water content sensor that placed on the slope surface at Jombok. Observations made for February to April to represent data during wet season. Deformation behavior and volumetric water content fluctuates every day due to high rainfall. Soil deformation increases according to increase in volumetric water content..Thus results indicated that there has been a shallow landslide soil slip on March 1st 2013 on the condition of volumetric water content by 71.58 and soil has deformed on X axis by 3.06 and -20.3 on Y axis. the characteristics of the relationship between volumetric water content and soil slope deformation can be monitored by using a combination of volumetric water content sensors and tiltmeter.
