DESIGN AND PLANNING SHOPPING MALL AT KEDUNG BARUK SURABAYA

ABSTRAK

Pusat perbelanjaan berupa shopping mall kini menjadi lebih dari sekedar kebutuhan bagi penduduk kota-kota besar seperti Surabaya shopping mall sudah menjadi bagian dari gaya hidup mereka. Penduduk kota besar cenderung menginginkan hal-hal yang praktis cukup dengan mendatangi satu tempat saja mereka sudah mendapatkan berbagai pemenuhan kebutuhan mereka mulai dari kebutuhan yang paling mendasar hingga kebutuhan-kebutuhan rekreatif dan refreshing. Oleh karena itu kini shopping mall berisi lebih dari sekedar toko-toko yang berjajar di sepanjang koridor melainkan toko-toko yang ditata sedemikian rupa sehingga menjadi sangat menarik lengkap dengan berbagai macam atraksi di dalamnya. Shopping mall masa kini hampir tidak pernah lepas dari area-area hiburan serta gedung bioskop. Arsitektur memiliki peran yang sangat penting di dalam setiap perencanaan sebuah mall karena arsitektur menjadi salah satu andalan sebuah mall untuk menarik pengunjung. Bentuk dan ekspresi fasad yang indah menjadi hal yang menarik bagi calon pengunjung atau bagi pengguna jalan yang melintas suasana di dalam mall juga dapat dibuat menarik melalui eksplorasi arsitektural. Eksplorasi dan intepretasi ruang terbuka hijau juga dipertimbangkan sebagai isu utama dari sebuah proses problem solving dalam desain. Shopping mall ini direncanakan akan dibangun di Jalan Raya Kedung Baruk lahannya berupa lahan pojok yang memanjang dari timur ke barat terletak di salah satu sudut perempatan jembatan MERR Surabaya. Mall ini direncanakan dibangun setinggi 4 lantai dengan fasilitas-fasilitas tenant berupa toko cafe dan lain-lain serta fasilitas-fasilitas umum seperti food court bank ATM center area bermain dan bioskop. Konsep utama yang ditawarkan dalam perencanaan mall ini adalah konsep ruang terbuka hijau.


ABSTRACT

A shopping mall has become more than just a necessity for the people of big cities such as Surabaya shopping malls have become part of their lifestyle. Big city dwellers tend to want things that are practical simply by visiting a single place theyve got a variety of their needs ranging from the most basic needs to the needs of recreational and refreshing. Therefore now shopping mall contains more than just the shops that lined the corridor but the stores are arranged in such a way that it becomes very attractive complete with a variety of attractions in it. Shopping malls today are almost never separated from the areas of entertainment and cinema. The architecture has a very important role in the planning of a mall because the architecture became one of the mainstays of a mall to attract visitors. Form and expression of the beautiful facade be of interest to prospective visitors or for passing road users the atmosphere inside the mall can also be made attractive through architectural exploration. Exploration and interpretation of open green spaces are also considered as the main issue of a process of problem solving in design. This shopping mall is planned to be built on Kedung Baruk a corner land that extends from east to west it is located in one corner of the intersection bridge Surabaya MERR. This mall is planned to be built as high as 4 floors with tenant facilities of shops cafes etc. as well as public facilities like food court bank ATM center play areas and theaters. The main concept is offered in the planning of this mall is the concept of green open space.
