ABSTRAK

Aplikasi bioreaktor Alga HRAR High Rate Alga Reactor merupakan salah satu teknologi alternatif untuk menurunkan konsentrasi pencemar organik dalam air. HRAR memanfaatkan simbiosis antara alga dan bakteri. Kandungan alga yang tinggi pada bioreactor akan meningkatkan kompetisi konsumsi oksigen antara alga dan bakteri dan berdampak pada penurunan laju pertumbuhan alga. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh aerasi pada tingkat pertumbuhan ganggang pada pengolahan air Boezem Morokrembangan. Penelitian dilakukan dalam skala laboratorium menggunakan variasi konsentrasi COD awal limbah sebesar 50 mgl 100 mgl dan 150 mgl. Dan variasi 12 jam pada malam hari dan 24 jam secara kontinyu. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Aerasi terus menerus selama 24 jam telah menyebabkan nilai pH air meningkat dan memperlambat laju pertumbuhan alga. Aerasi selama 12 jam pada malam hari mampu meningkatkan kinerja bioreaktor alga untuk menurunkan kandungan zat organik dan nutrient.


ABSTRACT

Algae bioreactor applications HRAR High Rate Algae Reactor is one of the alternative technologies to reduce the concentration of organic pollutants in water. HRAR use the symbiosis between algae and bacteria. In the HRAR systems will occur competition of oxygen consumption between algae and bacteria and impact on the growth rate of algae. The study aims to evaluate the effect of aeration on the growth rate of algae on the processing of Morokrembangan Boezem Water. The study was conducted in laboratory scale using a variation of the initial wastewater COD concentration of 50 mg l 100 mg l 150 mgl. And variation aeration 12 hours during night and 24 hour continuously. Research shows that continuous aeration for 24 hours has caused the pH value of water increases and inhibit the growth rate of algae.
