ABSTRAK

Wilayah pesisir Kota Surabaya secara umum dapat dikelompokkan menjadi kawasan pesisir utara dan timur. Secara alami di wilayah pesisir sangat dipengaruhi oleh keberadaan ekosistem penyangga berupa terumbu karang dan mangrove. Pesisir Timur Surabaya merupakan daerah lahan basah yang memiliki keanekaragaman ekosistem baik ekosistem pasir ekosistem rawa payau dan ekosistem mangrove. Kawasan Pesisir Timur Surabaya sebenarnya daerah penyangga yang dapat dikembangkan menjadi kawasan hutan kota karena di kawasan ini telah ada hutan mangrove namun kondisinya yang perlu untuk dibenahi kembali. Dalam penelitian ini akan mengkaji tentang persebaran mangrove dengan berbagai algoritma indeks vegetasi serta mengkaji luasan mangrove pesisir Kota Surabaya. Kajian mengenai persebaran vegetasi mangrove sangat penting untuk menjaga kestabilan mangrove mengingat peran mangrove cukup penting di wilayah pesisir. Dikarenakan daerah pesisir relatif luas maka analisa persebaran mangrove sangat efektif menggunakan teknologi penginderaan jauh dengan citra satelit Landsat 8 tahun 2013. Metode indeks vegetasi yang digunakan yaitu NDVI Normalized Difference Vegetation Index SAVI Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index GI Greeness Index dan WI Wetness Index. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil korelasi yang paling tinggi yaitu algoritma NDVI dengan GI sebesar 0957 Hal ini berarti bahwa penggunaan algoritma NDVI dan GI pada ekosistem mangrove dapat memberikan informasi tentang kerapatan mangrove yang semakin rapat dibandingkan algoritma lain. Hal ini dikarenakan semakin tinggi indeks vegetasi untuk indeks vegetasi NDVI dan GI maka kerapatan mangrove semakin rapat dan dimungkinkan karena indeks NDVI dan GI berfokus pada kanopi dari vegetasi.


ABSTRACT

The coastal areas of Surabaya are basically categorized into northern and eastern coastal areas. Naturally the coastal areas are highly influenced by the existence of supporting ecosystems in the form of coral reefs and magroves. The eastern coastal area is a wetland area having ecosystem diversity as sand saltmarsh and mangrove ecosystems. The eastern coastal area is virtually the supporting area which is potential to be developed as the town forest for there has been a mangrove forest which needs to be addressed in this area. This research reviews the distribution of mangroves by using various vegetation index algorithm as well as the extent of mangroves in the coastal areas of Surabaya. The study of mangrove vegetation distribution is very essential in taking care of mangrove stability regarding the role of mangrove which is quite important in the coastal areas. For the coastal areas are relatively wide the analysis of mangrove distribution is very effective if using remote sensing technology with 2013 Landsat 8 satellite imagery. Vegetation index methods used in this research were NDVI Normalized Difference Vegetation Index SAVI Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index GI Greeness Index and WI Wetness Index.
