ABSTRAK

Dual fuel system adalah salah satu sistem bahan bakar yang telah lama diterapkan pada mesin induk pada kapal-kapal pengangkut gas cair. Gas alam yang murah dan ketersediaannya yang luas kemudian disusul dengan peraturan pemerintah yang mendesak untuk menurunkan hasil emisi gas buang pada pengoperasian kapal maka sistem dual fuel ini menjadi solusi bagi para konsumen bahan bakar minyak. Mesin dual fuel beroperasi menggunakan CNG dan MDO atau bahan bakar diesel lainnya secara bersamaan. Dalam hal ini MDO menjadi pemantik yang mampu terbakar secara otomatis saat langkah kompresi dan selanjutnya membakar gas CNG yang tercampur dengan udara dan masuk pada ruang bakar. Kali ini penulis bermaksud untuk menerapkan dual fuel system pada mesin induk kapal tunda PT.Pelabuhan Indonesia II. Dengan analisis teknis dan ekonomis yang terukur penulis bermaksud memberikan hasil maksimal. Maka metode yang dilakukan pertama kali adalah menganalisa konversi mesin dari bahan bakar tunggal hingga menjadi mesin berbahan bakar ganda. Komponen-komponen dasar seperti tabung gas katup pressure regulator dan mixer pencampur gas dengan udara yang akan memasuki ruang bakar adalah hal-hal teknis yang akan ditinjau. Hal selanjutnya adalah tinjauan ekonomis yang menggunakan perbandingan biaya instalasi dan konsumsi bahan bakar yang dihabiskan saat sebelum melakukan konversi dual fuel dan setelahnya. Perbandingan dilakukan pada kapal tunda milik PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II agar dapat terlihat secara signifikan perbedaan antara sistem bahan bakar diesel konvensional dengan sistem dual fuel. Hasil dari analisa yang didapatkan adalah untuk konsumsi bahan bakar per hari pada sistem bahan bakar diesel konvensional adalah sebesar 3600 kg MDO dengan biaya bahan bakar per tahun sejumlah Rp 15461400000.- dan pada sistem dual fuel konsumsi bahan bakar per hari adalah 131.61 mmBTU CNG 1080 kg MDO dengan biaya total pada tahun pertama adalah sebesar Rp 8249544600.- yang termasuk biaya instalasi sekali konverter dual fuel untuk dua mesin induk. Hasil analisa ini nanti diharapkan menjadi masukan yang baik bagi penulis pembaca serta PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II.


ABSTRACT

Dual fuel system is one of the fuel system that has long been applied to the main engine on the ships transporting liquefied gas. Natural gas is more economical and widespread availability and followed by government regulations that urged to reduce exhaust emissions result in the operation of the ship then the dual fuel system is a solution for consumers of fuel oil. Operated dual fuel engine using CNG and MDO or other diesel fuel simultaneously. In this case MDO becomes the pilot-ignited fuel and injected during the compression stroke and the subsequent burning CNG that is mixed with air and into the combustion chamber. This time the author intends to implement a dual fuel system on the main engine of the tug boat of PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II. With the technical and economic analysis are measured the authors intend to provide maximum results. Thusthe first method is to analyze the conversion of a single fuel engines to be dual-fueled engine. Basic components such as gas cylinders valves pressure regulator and mixer mixing the gas with air to enter the combustion chamber are technical matters that will be reviewed. The next thing is the economical review that compares the cost of installation and fuel consumption that is spent while before doing a dual fuel conversion and thereafter. Comparisons were made on a tugboat owned by PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II in order to see significant differences between conventional diesel fuel system with dual fuel system. The results of the analysis are obtained for the fuel consumption per day on conventional diesel fuel system is equal to 3600 kg MDO with fuel costs per year which amounted to Rp 15461400000. - And the dual fuel system fuel consumption per day was 131.61 mmbtu of CNG 1080 kg of MDO with a total cost in the first year is Rp 8249544600. - which includes all installation costs for the two converters dual fuel main engine. The results of this analysis are expected to be good study for writers readers and PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia II.
