ABSTRAK

Hutan mangrove merupakan komunitas vegetasi pantai tropis yang didominasi oleh jenis Rhizophora sp. khususnya di Pantai Kenjeran Surabaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menelusuri keefektifan hutan mangrove dalam meredam gelombang dengan menggunakan 3 tiga metode penelitian yang sudah pernah ada berdasarkan karakteristik gelombang periode dan tinggi gelombang. Survei hutan mangrove di Pantai Timur Surabaya dilakukan untuk mengambil sampling diameter batang dan akar pohon mangrove. Sampling tersebut bertujuan untuk menentukan nilai porositas Np dan koefisien transmisi gelombang Kt. Data dari BMKG Perak Surabaya menunjukkan arah angin dominan dari arah Timur. Hutan Mangrove 1 memiliki tebal 5104 m sedangkan Hutan Mangrove 2 memiliki tebal 8862 m. Nilai porositas Hutan Mangrove 1 adalah 071 dan nilai porositas Hutan Mangrove 2 adalah 062. Nilai wave reduction untuk Hutan Mangrove 1 yaitu 5972 - 7784 sedangkan pada Hutan Mangrove 2 yaitu 7031 8501. Tinggi gelombang laut dangkal Hi yang semakin besar menghasilkan nilai wave reduction semakin kecil. Metode yang efektif dari ketiga implementasi Kristiyanto 2013 Eldina et. al. 2013 Thaha 2001 yang menghasilkan nilai wave reduction terbesar dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Thaha 2001. Dengan hubungan koefisien energi gelombang transmisi KEt dengan nilai porositas dan BgT02 yang diusulkan Thaha 2001 adalah 1198701198641199050855511989087222937111987311990111986111989211987902


ABSTRACT

Mangrove forests are tropical coastal vegetation communities which are dominated by species of Rhizophora sp. especially in Kenjeran Coast Surabaya. This study was conducted to explore the effectiveness of mangrove forests in reducing wave by using three methods of research that has ever existed. Using the characteristic wave period and wave height. A survey on mangrove forests in the East Coast Surabaya is conducted to take a sampling diameter stems and roots of mangrove trees . The sampling aimed to determine the value of the porosity Np and wave transmission coefficient Kt . Based on the data from BMKG Perak Surabaya the wind is blowing from East. The thickness Mangrove Forest 1 has a 51.04 m while the thickness Mangrove Forest 2 has a 88.62 m. Mangrove Forests 1 has porosity value of 0.71 and porosity value of Mangrove Forest 2 of 0.62. The wave reduction for Mangrove Forest 1 is 59.72 - 77.84 while the Mangrove Forest 2 is 70.31 - 85.01. The wave reduction Thaha 2001 prediction for wave reduction in mangrove forest give the best value comparing to other method. The relationship of wave energy transmission coefficient KEt influenced by porosity values and BgT02 purposed by Thaha 2001 is 1198701198641199050855511989087222937111987311990111986111989211987902
