ABSTRAK

Engine bad cover merupakan tempat dari dudukan mesin atau pondasi mesin. Dalam pembuatan dudukannya menggunakan proses pengelasan sehingga pada tempat tersebut harus diwaspadai adanya cacat. Pengaruh dari adanya cacat dan keretakan pada pengelasan di engine bad cover akan menyebabkan pengeseran pondasi dan poros mesin. Untuk mengurangi terjadinya cacat dan keretakan tersebut harus dilakukan beberapa upaya agar poros propeller tidak patah sehingga menyebabkan tidak dapat beroperasinya sebuah kapal dan menimbulkan kerugian bagi perusahaan. Bila dilihat dari teknik dan prosedur pengelasan seringnya terjadi cacat disebabkan oleh para welder tidak menggunakan teknik pengelasan yang benar. Misalnya saja pada proses pengelasan V joint proses penyambungan seperti ini sering terjadi cacat diantaranya adalah under cut. Cacat ini terjadi karena pada proses pengelasan busur las tidak sampai batas material yang akan di las. Oleh karena itu dilakukan studi bagaimana cara teknik pengelasan yang baik dan benar pada engine bed cover di PT. Dok dan Perkapalan Surabaya sehingga dapat mengurangi tingkat cacat pada setiap hasil pengelasan. Kata


ABSTRACT

PT is Surabayas Dock and shipping are corporate production one bounds fast notably in repair workmanship fixed up for all ship type. In its repair usually utilize welding process. But then in that welding process alone most did by manual manpower so often been found blemish on yielding welding. Engine bad cover constitutes place from occupation machine. In occupation makings utilizes to process welding so on that place is frequent found also blemish. Influence of marks sense blemish and break on welding at engine bad cover will cause arrangement foundation and machine axis. To reduce its happening invalids and that break shall divers do that effort axis propeller not break so causing cant its operating one ship and evoke loss for corporate. If is seen from welding tech and procedure the number of times blemish happening because of welder not utilize right welding tech. E.g. just on welding process v join dialing process as it is frequent happening invalids amongst those is under cut . This at a fault happening because on lass arc welding process not to a point significant which will at las. Therefore done by study how to tech welding that good and right on engine bed cover at PT. SURABAYAS dock and shipping so gets to reduce blemish zoom on each result welding. Key
