ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF WELDING AGAINST MECHANICAL PROPERTIES THE WELDING PROCESS OF SMAW WELDING USING E 7018 ELECTRODES

ABSTRAK

Dalam dunia industri saat ini dikenal berbagai macam pengelasan antara lain las asitelin las SMAW TIG MIG dan lain-lain. Dari berbagai macam pengelasan tersebut yang paling popular di masyarakat adalah las asitelin dan las SMAW. Untuk mendapatkan hasil pengelasan SMAW yang baik maka diperlukan parameter pengelasan yang tepat meliputi jarak kampuh kuat arus dan kecepatan pengelasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik pengelasan dengan menggunakan arus yang berbeda-beda antara 100A 130A dan 160A. Pada setiap proses pengelasan akan dilakukan pengujian kekerasan dan pengujian ketangguhan hal ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan data sebagai pembanding. Hasil penelitian untuk tebal pelat baja 5 mm dengan variasi jarak kampuh las antara 2 sampai 3 mm diketahui nilai ketangguhan untuk arus 100A lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan variasi arus 130A dan 160A sebesar 1.8098 joulemm2. sedangkan hasil pengujian kekerasan pada daerah HAZ terjadi nilai kekerasan yang tinggi terdapat pada arus pengelasan 130A sebesar 274 kgmm2.


ABSTRACT

In the world today is known industry wide variety of welding such as weld asitelin welding SMAW TIG MIG and others. Of the various kinds of welding is the most popular in the community is asitelin welding and SMAW welding. To get good results SMAW welding it is necessary to the proper welding parameters strong currents and welding speeds. This study aims to determine the characteristics of welding by using a current that varies between 100A 130A and 160A. In any welding process will be testing hardness and toughness testing this is done to obtain data for comparison. The results for 5 mm thick steel plate with welded seam variation distance between 2 to 3 mm it is known the value of toughness for currents higher than 100A to 130A and 160A current variation of 1.8098 joulemm2. while the results of hardness testing on the HAZ occurs high hardness values found on 130A welding current of 274 kgmm2.
