ABSTRAK

Kualitas komponen hasil proses pemesinan salah satunya ditentukan oleh nilai kekasaran permukaan. Putaran spindel feeding dan depth of cut merupakan parameter proses milling CNC sehingga kami perlu mengetahui pengaruh parameter-parameter tersebut terhadap kekasaran permukaan dan parameter yang mempengaruhi kekasaran permukaan optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan orthogonal array tiga faktor level untuk menentukan variasi eksperimen. Spesimen yang digunakan adalah baja St.42. Jumlah eksperimen adalah sembilan untuk masing-masing eksperimen dilakukan tiga kali replikasi proses milling CNC kemudian dilakukan uji kekasaran permukaan. Hasil Analysis of varians Anova Taguchi menunjukkan bahwa putaran spindel dan feeding berpengaruh terhadap kekasaran permukaan. Sedangkan depth of cut tidak berpengaruh terhadap kekasaran permukaan. Parameter yang mempengaruhi kekasaran permukaan optimal adalah putaran spindel 800 rpm feeding 292 mmmenit dan depth of cut 0.5 mm.


ABSTRACT

The quality of machining processes yield components one of them is determined by the surface roughness. Spindle speed feeding and depth of cut are parameters of CNC milling procces so we necessary to know influence of these parameters for surface roughness and parameters which influence to optimum surface roughness This research use orthogonal arrays three level factor to determine variation of experiment. The specimen which used were steel St.42. Number of experiment are nine for each experiment by three times replication of CNC milling procces then surface roughness test. Analysis result of variance Anova Taguchi showed that Spindle speed and feeding influence to surface roughness and whereas feeding did not influence to surface roughness. Parameter wich influence to optimum surface roughness are spindle speed 800 rpm feeding 292 mmminute and depth of cut 0.5 mm.
