PENGARUH KECEPATAN PENGELASAN PUTARAN TOOL DAN BENTUK TOOL TERHADAP PENGELASAN FRICTION STIR WELDING FSW DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MESIN FRAIS

ABSTRAK

Penyambungan material tanpa menggunakan filler metal dengan menggunakan Friction Stir Welding sudah sering dilakukan. Metode las Friction Stir Welding pada umumnya menerapkan prinsip gesekan panas yang dihasilkan oleh putaran tool. Mesin frais yang digunakan untuk proses Friction Stir Welding ini hanya memodifikasi bentuk tool yang ada di mesin frais menjadi bentuk tool yang biasa digunakan pada mesin Friction Stir Welding pada umumnya. Modifikasi bentuk tool yang dilakukan yaitu dengan membuat tiga bentuk tool yang berbeda antara lain silinder tirus dan taper dengan kecepatan pengelasan 60 mmmenit dan 110 mmmenit serta putaran tool 958 rpm dan 1541 rpm. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian kekuatan tarik travel speed dan rotation speed yang rendah akan meningkatkan kekuatan tarik. Hal ini terlihat pada tool silinder pada spesimen 11 dengan variabel travel speed 115 mmmenit dan rotation speed 958 rpm. Tinggi panas yang dihasilkan akan memperbaiki struktur butir yang terbentuk pada daerah lasan. Dari hasil pengujian kekerasan pengaruh panas yang dihasilkan menurunkan nilai ketangguhan yang menyebabkan turunnya nilai kekerasan. Sedangkan pengaruh panas yang disertai dengan tekanan yang dihasilkan tool akan menaikkan kekerasan. Dari pengujian struktur mikro pengaruh panas pada daerah HAZ menyebabkan butiran menjadi besar. Sedangkan di daerah weld nugget pengaruh panas yang disertai dengan tekanan yang dihasilkan oleh tool menyebabkan butiran mengecil.


ABSTRACT

Joined on material without using metal filler by using Friction Stir Welding is often done. Method of Friction Stir Welding in general apply hot friction principle by rotation of tool. Frais machine which used for the process of this Friction Stir Welding only modifying type of tool exist in frais machine become type of tool which commonly use at Friction Stir Welding machine in general. Modify type tool done that is by making three type of tool different for example cylinder tapering and taper with welding speed 60 mm minute and 110 mm minute and also rotation of tool 958 rpm and 1541 rpm. Based on tensile test travel speed and rotation low speed will improve tensile strength. It is visible on the cylinder tool at spesimen 11 with variable of travel speed 115 mm minute and speed rotation 958 rpm. High heat generated will improve the structure grain formed in weld area. From result hardness test hot influence reduce the value of toughness that cause a decline in the value of hardness. While hot influence which accompanied with pressure created by tool will increase hardness. From microstructure test hot influence at HAZ cause micro granuler to be great. While at weld nugget influence of heat accompanied by pressure by the tool causing the smaller grains.
