ABSTRAK

Pipa blowdown yang terdapat pada sistem perpipaan boiler berguna untuk membuang cairan sisa-sisa steam. Sebelum dijalankan boiler harus diblowdown terlebih dahulu guna mencegah terjadinya Water Hammer. Water Hammer sering terjadi pada pipai blowdown karena adanya pertemuan dua fase zat yang memiliki perbedaan suhu dan tekanan tinggi. Selain itu Water Hammer bisa juga disebabkan oleh panjang pipa kecepatan aliran dan waktu penutupan valve yang lebih cepat. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut distribusi tekanan dan kecepatan pada pipa blowdown harus diketahui. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode penelitian eksperimen. Penelitian ini pengaruh Water Hammer pada dinding pipa blowdow disimulasikan dengan mengunakan software ANSYS 12.1 guna mengetahui distribusi tekanan dan karakteristik aliran dalam pipa. Selain itu pengaruh Water Hammer pada dinding pipa juga dihitung secara manual. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tekanan terbesar terjadi pada elbow. Selain itu menurut perhitungan terjadi deformasi pada dinding pipa sebesar 57 x 10-5 milimeter. Untuk mengurangi tekanan yang terjadi digunakan pipa panjang dengan diameter besar dan schedule kecil karena dapat mengurangi kerugian tekanan dan faktor gesek yang terjadi.


ABSTRACT

The Blowdown pipe found on the boiler piping system used to remove the liquid residue of steam. Before being operated the boiler should be blowdown to prevent Water Hammer. Water Hammer often occurs in blowdown pipe because of the confluence of two substance phases that had a different temperature and pressure. In addition Water Hammer caused by length of pipe flow rate and the faster time of valve closing.To solve the problem pipes acceleration pressure in pipes blowdown must be identified. This research was conducted by experimental research methods. This research is the influence of Water Hammer in pipe wall blowdow simulated by using ANSYS 12.1 software to determine the pressure distribution and flow characteristics in pipes. In addition the effect of Water Hammer in pipe wall was also calculated manually The results showed the greatest pressure occurs at the elbow. Also according to the calculation there is increasing of pipe diameter about 57 x 10-5 milimeter. To reduce the pressure that happens to use a long pipe with large diameter and small schedule because it can reduce the loss of pressure and friction factor is happening.
