PEMBUATAN AIR SEBAGAI ISOLATOR SUBJUDUL PENYULINGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE ELEKTROLISIS

MAKING WATER AS AN INSULATOR Destilation using Electrolysis Method

ABSTRAK

Indonesia merupakan negara yang beriklim tropis dengan curah hujan rata-rata 1.600mm per tahunnya. Selain memberikan manfaat di sektor PLTA air juga bisa menjadi salah satu penyebab isolasi pada trafo di gardu PLN cepat berkarat dan rusak dan akhirnya akan berakibat short circuit pada jaringan saat hujan turun. Hal tersebut diakibatkan air yang masih mengandung berbagai macam mineral dan logam yang membuatnya dapat menghantarkan arus listrik dan bersifat korosif pada logam. Untuk mengurangi daya hantar air terhadap arus listrik maka dibuatlah air yang memiliki sifat mendekati sebuah isolator melalui penguapan air dengan menggunakan metode elektrolisis. Elektrolisis yang dimaksud adalah dengan memberikan tegangan DC pada 2 elektroda yang dimasukkan ke dalam air. Sistem boiler elektrolisis yang digunakan disini menggunakan rangkaian Full Wave Rectifier dengan tegangan keluaran 283 Vdc untuk tegangan masukan 220 Vac. Pada pengujian boiler elektrolisis digunakan air dengan kadar polutan sebesar 210 ppm part per million dengan sumber tegangan masukan untuk rectifier 220 Vac diperoleh tegangan keluaran rata-rata 283 Vdc yang selanjutnya digunakan sebagai input tegangan pada proses elektrolisisnya. Pada pengujian respon sensor suhu didapatkan respon kenaikan suhu saat proses elektrolisis. Berdasarkan respon dari sensor suhu tersebut kemudian ditentukan titik ambang didih air 90oC sebagai acuan kontrol untuk menentukan kapan steam valve akan dibuka untuk menyalurkan uap air ke pendingin elektrik. Dari hasil pendingin elektrik diperoleh hasil air dengan kadar polutan 15 ppm.


ABSTRACT

Indonesia is a tropical country with a rainfall average of 1.600mm every year. In addition to providing benefits in the hydropower sector the water could also be one cause of insulation on the transformer at the substation PLN quickly rusted and broken and will ltimately result in short circuit on the network when it rains. It is caused by water that still contains various minerals and metals that make it can conduct lectricity and are corrosive to metals. To reduce the conductivity of water to electrical current then be made of water which has properties close to an insulator through the evaporation of water using electrolysis. Electrolysis is meant is to provide DC voltage to two electrodes inserted into the water. Electrolysis boiler system used here using Full Wave Rectifier circuit with output voltage 283 Vdc to 220 Vac input voltage. In the electrolysis of boiler testing use water with pollutant levels of 210 ppm parts per million with the source voltage 220 Vac input to the rectifier output voltage obtained an average of 283 dc for use as the input voltage at electrolysis process. In testing the temperature sensor response the response obtained when the temperature rise in the electrolysis process. Based on the response of emperature sensors and then determined the threshold of the boiling point of 90oC water as a reference to determine when the steam control valve will be opened to supply steam to electric cooling. From the results of electric refrigeration the results obtained with a water pollutant levels 15 ppm.
