Kali Jagir, Surabaya, sebagai sungai yang mengalir hampir di sepanjang kota Surabaya merupakan sungai yang sangat berpengaruh bagi kehidupan masyarakat Surabaya. Tingkat keamanan sungai itu sendiri banyak dipengaruhi oleh tingkat keamanan tanggulnya. Tanggul Kali Jagir yang masih berupa tanggul tanah mempunyai potensi besar terjadi kelongsoran tanggul. Hal ini mungkin terjadi jika muka air sungai tinggi sehingga terdapat kemungkinan terjadinya rembesan air ke dalam tubuh tanggul dan menembus lereng tanggul bagian belakang. Rembesan air yang secara terus menerus akan membentuk pipa Ė pipa kecil dalam tubuh tanggul (piping) sehingga dapat menurunkan tingkat kestabilan tanggul sungai dan dapat menyebabkan kelongsoran tanggul. Dari perhitungan dengan menggunakan program bantu Plaxis didapatkan angka keamanan tanggul sungai tanpa struktur pengaman sebesar 1,1. Angka tersebut merupakan nilai minimum dari nilai aman suatu bangunan. Oleh sebab itu, tugas akhir ini akan membahas mengenai alternatif desain struktur pengaman tanggul yang dapat dipakai untuk mengamankan tanggul kali Jagir, diantaranya dengan menggunakan sheet pile. Struktur sheet pile dipilih untuk pengaman tanggul kali Jagir karena sheet pile merupakan struktur yang tergolong ringan dibandingkan dengan struktur Ė struktur pengaman tanggul yang lainnya. Tugas akhir ini membahas dua alternatif desain yang menggunakan sheet pile sebagai struktur utamanya, yaitu double sheet pile untuk alternatif pertama dan sheet pile dengan tiang pancang untuk alternatif kedua dimana keduanya memakai sheet pile tipe W-400-A-1000 produksi PT. Jaya Beton. Dari kedua alternatif yang dibahas, alternatif pertama (double sheet pile) adalah alternatif terpilih karena tingkat ekonomisnya. Untuk pelaksanaan pembangunan alternatif pertama,biaya yang dibutuhkan sebesar Rp. 187.213.709,- untuk setiap 10 meter, sedangkan alternatif kedua membutuhkan Rp. 172.734.562,- untuk setiap 10 meter. Dengan adanya struktur pengaman tanggul tersebut, angka keamanan kali Jagir berubah menjadi 2,2 dan merupakan struktur yang aman.

Jagir river, Surabaya, as the river that flows almost along the city of Surabaya is very influential to peoples that live in Surabaya. The safety of the river was heavily influenced by the safety factor of that banks. Jagir riverís dike was still a earth embankment has a great potential for sliding. This may occur if the water level is high so there is the possibility of seepage into the body through the embankment and the rear slope of the dike. Seepage is continuously going to form a pipe - a small pipe in the body of the dike (piping) that it can reduce bank stability and may cause sliding. From calculations using Plaxis computer program, at initial condition of the riverís bank without additional support, the safety factor of sliding is about 1.1. This value is known as the minimum value of the safety of building become safe. Therefore, this final project will discuss about design of alternative supporting structures that the dike could be used to secure the embankment of Jagir river, such as by using sheet pile. Sheet pile structure is selected for the safety of Jagir riverís dike because sheet pile is a relatively lightweight structure compared with the other structures. This final project examined two alternative designs that use a sheet pile as its main structure, the double sheet pile for the first alternative and the sheet pile combine with pile as the second alternative, in which both of them are using sheet pile-type W-400-A-1000 production of PT. Jaya Beton. Those alternatives are discussed, the first alternative (double sheet pile) is the chosen alternative for its economic level. Construction cost of the first alternative is Rp. 187.213.709, - for every 10 meters, where as the second alternative requires Rp. 172.734.562, - for every 10 meters. By using those additional structure, the safety factor become 2.2 and the stability of embankment more safe.
