Description:

Salah satu permasalahan yang ada dalam air limbah domestik yaitu adanya kandungan amoniak (NH3) yang cukup tinggi. Adanya amoniak dalam air limbah ini berpotensi mencemari badan air bila langsung dibuang tanpa melalui proses pengolahan. Untuk itu perlu adanya suatu teknologi pengolahan yang tepat. Metode air stripping adalah salah satu metode yang digunakan dalam usaha menurunkan kandungan amoniak dalam air limbah. Pada penelitian tekmologi air stripping ini didapatkan hasil bahwa perlakuan variasi besar debit Q1 (1,25 ml/menit) memiliki rentang penurunan konsentrasi amoniak lebih baik dibanding dengan perlakuan besar debit Q2 (2,5 ml/menit) dan Q3 (20 ml/menit). Penurunan konsentrasi amoniak oleh kodisi Q1 yaitu antara 10 – 35%. Sedang rentang penurunan konsentrasi amoniak yang terbaik diantara ketiga variasi konsentrasi awal adalah perlakuan konsentrasi awal X3 (56 mg/l), yaitu sebesar 5,4 – 35%, dibanding X1 (154 mg/l) dan X2 (95,2 mg/l) sebesar 1,6 – 32,7 % dan 5,9 – 29,8%. Untuk penggunaan media kelereng dengan tinggi sebesar R1 (tinggi media 25 cm) mempunyai rentang penurunan konsentrasi amoniak sebesar 5 – 35% ini lebih baik dibanding untuk R2 (tinggi media 50 cm) yang dan R3 (tinggi media 100 cm) sebesar . Rasio G/L terbaik di miliki oleh R1 (tinggi media 25 cm) sebesar 1785,05. Sedang untuk R2 (tinggi media 50 cm) hanya sebesar 1785,03, dan R3 (tinggi media 100 cm) sebesar 1785,04.

There is one kind problem in domestic wastewater, its contain high concentration of ammonia. Ammonia presence in a surface water, potentally desecrate if not treat it before. Air stripping method is a one method which used to remove ammonia in wastewater. From this air stripping research, there are some results that wastewater flow given as Q1 (1,25 ml/min) have ammonia removal ability better than Q2 (2,5 ml/min) and Q3 (20 ml/min). Ammonia removal ability for Q1 about 10 – 35%. The best ammonia removal ability betwen three diferent concentration is for wastewater which contained X3 (56 mg/l), its about 5,4 – 35%. And for X1 (154 mg/l) dan X2 (95,2 mg/l) about 1,6 – 32,7 % and 5,9 – 29,8%. If using marbels as media with condition like R1 (depth of media 25 cm) have ammonia removal ability 5 – 35% ,this is better than R2 (depth of media 50 cm) and R3 (depth of media 100 cm). R1 (depth of media 25 cm) have G/L ratio about 1785,05. For R2 (depth of media 50 cm) its just 1785,03, and R3 (depth of media 100 cm) about 1785,04.
