PENGAMBILAN MINYAK ATSIRI DARI BIJI PALA MYRISTICA FRAGRANS DENGAN PROSES DESTILASI UAP

ABSTRAK

Tujuan dari pengambilan minyak atsiri dari biji pala dengan metode destilasi uap adalah untuk membuat neraca massa dan energi pada pengambilan minyak atsiri dengan proses destilasi uap. Percobaan dilakukan dengan 3 proses yaitu proses awal proses penyulingan dan proses pasca penyulingan. Proses awal adalah mengambil biji pala memotong biji pala 1 cm dan menumbuk secara acak dengan ukuran kurang dari 1 cm dijemur dan diangin anginkan ditempat yang teduh. Proses penyulingan adalah mempersiapkan alat penyulingan terlebih dahulu memasukkan air sebanyak 14 L dalam boiler ketel uap dan biji pala sebanyak 1 kg dalam ketel suling. Mengalirkan air di kondensor. Menyalakan pemanas dengan nyala konstan. Mengoperasikan cooling tower. Mengamati temperatur pada boiler 122oC dan pada tangki penyuling 120oC. Pada saat penyulingan air yang ada dalam kondensor didistribusikan ke cooling tower kemudian air pendingin tersebut dialirkan ke bak penampung untuk didistribusikan ke. Mengamati suhu yag keluar dan masuk bak kondensor. Mengeluarkan kondensat tiap 2 jam sekali pada tangki penyuling mengambil destilat setelah delapan jam dari keadaan steady state untuk dilakukan make-up water. Setelah make-up water proses penyulingan dilanjutkan kembali selama 4 jam. Proses pasca penyulingan adalah memisahkan. Kesimpulan dari percobaan ini adalah jumlah minyak pala paling banyak didapat pada waktu penyulingan dengan variable tumbuk acak dengan menggunakan distributor type spray 70 ml. Jumlah rendemen minyak pala rata-rata 695575. Minyak pala yang dihasilkan memiliki Densitas 09021 kgliter Angka asam 285 Bilangan ester 14025 Indeks bias 1475 brix Kadar air biji pala 13.


ABSTRACT

Intention of intake of oil of atsiri from seed of nutmeg with method of destilasi condense is to make balance of mass and energi at intake of oil of atsiri with process of destilasi condense. Attempt doneconducted by 3 process that is process early process of distillation and process pasca distillation. Process early take nutmeg seed cutting seed of nutmeg 1 cm and box at random of the size less than 1 cm put to the sun and the wind - aerating calm in place. Process distillation is draw up appliance of distillation beforehand including water as much 14 L in boilersteaming kettle and the nutmeg seed as much 1 singk in boiler refine. Conducting water in liquefier. Fire heater aglow is constant. Operating cooling tower. Perceiving temperature at boiler 122oC and at distiller tank 120oC. At the time of distillation existing water in liquefier distributed to cooling tower laterthen irrigate the cooler poured into by a receptacle to be distributed to. Perceiving temperature of yag go out and enter liquefier basin. Releasing kondensat of every 2 clock once at distiller tank taking destilat after eight clock from circumstance of steady state to be doneconducted by make-up water. After make-up water process distillation re-continued during 4 clock. Process pasca of distillation is dissociate. Conclusion from this attempt is amount of oil of nutmeg at most got when distillation by variable box random by using distributor of type spray 70 ml. Sum up rendemen of oil of nutmeg of mean 695575. oil of Nutmeg yielded own Densitas 09021 kgliter Sour number 285 Ester number 14025 Refractive index 1475 brix Rate irrigate seed of nutmeg 13
