PENGAMBILAN MINYAK ATSIRI DARI KULIT KAYU MANIS CINNAMOMUM BURMANII DENGAN PROSES DESTILASI UAP

ABSTRAK

Tujuan percobaan destilasi uap ini adalah untuk mengetahui perhitungan neraca massa dan energi pada pengambilan minyak kulit kayu manis Cinnamomum burmanii dan mengetahui kadar minyak yang terdapat pada kulit kayu manis Cinnamomum burmanii Metodologi penelitian ini meliputi 2 tahap yaitu Tahap persiapan meliputi memotong kulit kayu manis mengambil air untuk proses destilasi pada ketel uap menyiapkan peralatan kondensor ketel suling dan peralatan lain untuk destilasi .Tahap percobaan meliputi memasukkan air dalam ketel uap dan memasang tray pada ketel destilasi memasukkan kayu manis yang telah dihancurkan ke dalam tray menyalakan kompor gas untuk memanaskan ketel uap menyalakan pompa air untuk pendingin kondensor meletakkan decanter alat pemisah minyak di bawah kondensor tempat perubahan fase dari uap menjadi fluida. Mencatat suhu masing-masing proses. Distilat yang tertampung pada bak penampung berupa minyak dan air. Memisahkan minyak kulit kayu manis dengan air menggunakan corong pemisah sehingga terdapat 2 lapisan lapisan atas minyak kayu manis dan lapisan bawah air. Mencatat volume akhir minyak dan air setelah dipisah dengan decanter. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan Semakin lama waktu destilasi jumlah rendemen minyak yang diperoleh semakin banyak. Semakin kecil ukuran bahan yang akan didestilasi jumlah rendemen minyak yang dihasilkan semakin banyak. Minyak kulit kayu manis terbanyak didapat pada waktu 8 jam dengan ukuran bahan 50 mesh dan kapasitas bahan 800 gram. Jumlah minyak kulit kayu manis yang dihasilkan selama 8 jam percobaan dengan ukuran bahan 50 mesh dan pada kapasitas bahan 800 gram adalah 8 ml. Minyak kayu manis yang dihasilkan memiliki densitas 0899 grcm3 angka asam 28 kadar air 1976 kadar minyak 1


ABSTRACT

The purposes from the experiment of steam distillation are calculate mass balance and heat balance in take of Cinnamomum burmanii bark oil and to know the percentage oil on the Cinnamomum burmanii bark. This Research methodologies cover 2 phase that is preparation Phase cover cutting Cinnamomum burmanii bark taking water to process the destilasi to steaming kettle preparing liquefier equipments boiler refine and otherdissimilar equipments for the destilasi of . Attempt phase covering including water in steaming kettle and install the tray to boiler destilasi including Cinnamomum burmanii which have been broken into tray fire the gas burner to heat the steaming kettle fire the water pump for the cooler of liquefier placing decanter appliance of oil winnow belowunder liquefier place phase change from vapour become the fluid. Nothing temperature of each process. Distilat accomodated receptacle in the form of grease and water. Dissociating Cinnamomum burmanii bark oil with the water use the winnow funnel so that there are 2 coat flake oil of cinnamon and substratum irrigate. Nothing final volume of grease and water after disjointed by decanter. The conclution from the research result are Longer time destilasi sum up the rendemen oil obtained. Smaller size measure of substance to destillation sum up the rendemen oil yielded. Cinnammon bark oil a lot of get when 8 hour of the size substance 50 mesh and substance capacities 800 gram. Sum up the oil of beloved bark yielded during 8 attempt hour of the size substance 50 mesh and the substance capacities 800 gram is 8 ml. Oil of cinnamon yielded own the densitas 0899 gr cm3 acid number 28water containt 1976 oil contain 1
