Laut merupakan sumber kekayaan alam yang sangat penting bagi kehidupan manusia, yang di dalamnya terdapat banyak kehidupan, salah satunya adalah plankton. Plankton adalah organisme mikroskopik yang mengapung dengan bebas di dalam laut, danau, atau perairan lain. Plankton merupakan komponen dari rantai makanan dalam ekosistem laut. Plankton terdiri dari phytoplankton dan zooplankton. Sebagai komponen rantai makanan diasumsikan zooplankton mengambil nutrisi dan semua zooplankton atau phytoplankton yang mati akan didaur ulang menjadi nutrisi. Pada tugas akhir ini akan diawali dengan menentukan kestabilan dari titik kesetimbangan model Z - P - N dan dianalisa terlebih dahulu syarat keterbatasan dari phytoplankton dan zooplankton. Dari hasil analisa dalam tugas akhir ini diperoleh bahwa jika laju pengambilan nutrisi maksimal oleh phytoplankton (a) adalah kurang dari atau sama dengan laju kematian dan laju pembusukan phytoplankton (g dan D1), maka populasi phytoplankton terbatas, sedangkan populasi zooplankton akan punah jika jumlah laju pengambilan nutrisi maksimal oleh zooplankton (b) dan laju proses pencernaan kurang dari atau sama dengan laju kematian dan laju pembusukan zooplankton (e dan D2). Berdasarkan analisa persistensi bahwa suatu sistem dikatakan persistent jika dipenuhi

Sea is a very important natural wealth source for human being, in which inside of it, there is many lives, one of them is plankton. Plankton is a microscopic organism that float freely in the seas, lakes, or other waters. Plankton is a component of food chain in the sea ecosystem. Plankton consists of phytoplankton and zooplankton. As the component of food chain, there is assumption that zooplankton takes nutrition and all dead zooplankton or phytoplankton to be recycled into nutrition. This final examination will be initiated with the determination of stability from balance point of Z–P–N model and it will be analyzed first the limitation requirements of phytoplankton and zooplankton. From the final analysis in this final examination, it is found out that when the maximal rate of nutrition taking over by phytoplankton (a) is less from or the same with the death rate and decomposition rate of phytoplankton ( g and D1 ), then the population of phytoplankton will be limited, meanwhile the population of zooplankton will be extinct when the total maximal rate of nutrition taking by zooplankton (b) and rate of digestion rate is less than or the same with the dead rate and the rate of zooplankton decomposition ( e and D2 ).
