Description:

Lindi hasil ekstraksi sampah adalah cairan dengan kandungan bahan terlarut maupun tersuspensi dengan konsentrasi yang tinggi. Polutan yang terkandung terdiri dari senyawasenyawa kimia organik dan anorganik hasil dekomposisi sampah dan pelarutan oleh air yang masuk dalam timbulan sampah yang berasal dari air hujan, drainase, air tanah atau sumber lain di sekitar lokasi TPA. Lindi TPA memiliki sifat toksisitas yang tinggi, oleh karenanya perlu dilakukan pengelolaan dan pengolahan sebelum dibuang ke badan air penerima/sungai. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mencari nilai parameter penurunan kekeruhan, kandungan COD dan Cl-. Penelitian dilakukan dalam skala laboratorium, menggunakan metode elektrokoagulasi dengan aliran kontinyu. Variabel yang digunakan adalah jenis anoda dan debit sebagai influen. Dari hasil penelitian dapat dibuktikan bahwa metode elektrokoagulasi efektif baik dalam menurunkan kekeruhan, COD dan Cl-. Hasil penelitian menggunakan elektroda Al/C diperoleh penurunan hingga 71,04%. Sedangkan penurunan kekeruhan dengan menggunakan elektroda Fe/C dapat mencapai nilai 71,41% dengan waktu kontak 5 jam, penurunan COD 86,67% dan penurunan Cl- 21,9%

Leachate which produce from garbage extraction, is liquid with high concentrate of disolved and suspended material. Pollutant which implied consist of organic and anorganic chemical subtance, produce from garbage decompotition and water disolved inside heap garbage that source from rain, drainage, groundwater, and another source around TPA. TPA leachate have high toxic characteristic, therefore this pollutant must be treated before wasted to the river. This research goal to find parameter value of removal turbidity, COD and Cl- contain. Research to be done at laboratory using electrocoagulation method with continuous flow. Variable that used is anode type and flow rate as influent. The result proved that electrocoagulation method is effective for degrade turbidity, COD and Cl- contain. The research using Al/C electrode has result turbidity degradation until 71,04%. Whereas using Fe/C electrode could reach turbidity degradation up to 71,41% with 5 hours time contact, COD degradation until 86,67% and Cldegradation until 21,9%.
