ABSTRAK

Closed cycle salt gradient solar pond merupakan salah satu sumber energi alternatif yang menyerap dan mengumpulkan energi melalui pemanfaatan transfer panas secara konveksi dari sinar matahari pada medium fluida air asin. Kinerja solar pond yang sangat bergantung pada kondisi cuaca dan karakteristik fisik maupun kimia dari air asin memerlukan model kontrol yang mampu menghasilkan supplay energi yang stabil dari sistem tersebut. Penerapan solar pond sebagai pembangkit listrik memerlukan kajian instrumentasi dan kajian ekonomis sejauh mana sistem ini layak untuk diimplementasikan di daerah tertentu. Pada penelitian ini obyek penelitian dilakukan di wilayah pesisir kabupaten Gresik yang menggunakan tiga model kontrol yang selanjutnya telah dipilih model kontrol yang paling optimal yakni model kontrol ketiga yang menghasilkan daya listrik sebesar 142 kW dengan nilai salinitas LCZ yang terjaga sama dengan atau melebihi set point 310.66 kgm3 hingga akhir beroperasinya solar pond serta minimnya operasi pompa-pompa yang digunakan.


ABSTRACT

Closed Cycle salt gradient solar pond is a source of alternative energy that absorb and collect heat convection transfer from sunshine at medium of brine fluid. Performance of solar pond base on wheater condition and physical characteristic and also chemical of brine so needed a control model that capable for sustainable supply energy from the system. Application of solar pond as power plant need the economic and instrumentation analyze how far this system is competent for implemented in certain area. The research object is coastal area of Gresik residence which using three model control and then have been selected a most optimal control model that is the third control model. The Solar pond electric product equal to 142 kW with the value of LCZ salinity equal or more et the point 310.66 kgm3 until ending operation of solar pond and also its minimum operate for pumps use.
