Evaluation of Pioneer Ships Route with Port of Ambon as The home base

Propinsi Maluku merupakan daerah kepulauan, maka sarana transportasi yang sangat dibutuhkan bagi pertumbuhan ekonomi wilayah ini adalah sarana transportasi laut. Untuk meningkatkan perkembangan jumlah muatan maka perlu disusun suatu trayek yang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung waktu tempuh rata-ratanya, load faktornya serta jumlah round voyage dalam satu tahun dari trayek eksisting saat ini, menyusun alternatif-alternatif susunan trayek yang mungkin lebih optimal dari trayek eksisting, mengevaluasi alternatifalternatif trayek tersebut sudah memenuhi kriteria-kriteria yaitu kriteria 1 adalah waktu tempuh penumpang minimal, kriteria 2 yaitu load factor maksimal, dimana untuk menentukan load factor maksimal adalah dengan meluhat load factor ratarata tidak lebih dari 1 dan load factor segmen maksimal tidak lebih dari kondisi eksisting., atau memenuhi kriteria 1 dan 2, kemudian mencari trayek yang paling optimal berdasar kriteria yang telah disebutkan diatas. Penelitian ini diawali dengan Penyusunan matrik asal tujuan penumpang. Mengevaluasi trayek eksisting dan trayek alternatif dengan menggunakan kriteriakriteria yang telah disebutkan diatas. Dari hasil Penelitian didapat alternatif yang memenuhi kriteria 1 yaitu waktu tempuh minimal adalah alternatif 10 dengan waktu tempuh rata-rata sebesar 40.71 jam. Alternatif yang memenuhi kriteria 2, yaitu load factor maksimal adalah alternatif 5. trayek yang memenuhi kriteria 1 dan 2 adalah alternatif 5. Sedang untuk trayek yag paling optimum adalah trayek 10.

Maluku Province as an archipelago needs sea transportation to increase its economics development. The Pioneer ships are an important sea transportation it connecting areas or cities at Maluku Province or even to other provinces in Indonesia’s area. The effective route has needed to increase the passengers of pioneer ships. This study will trying to find the alternative route that maybe more effective than existing route. The alternatives must be having at least one criteria. The first criteria is having a minimun passenger’s travel time, the second criteria is having a maximum load factor, which have an average load factor not more than 1 and maximum load factor’s segment less than existing condition. The last criteria is fulfilled the first and the second criteria. The objectives from this study are evaluated the existing route, find the alternatives route, and than evaluated the route to find the optimum route . This study generates OD matrix using Gravity model of the existing route as well as alternatives route, and than evaluate the existing and alternatives route. The evaluation of the alternatives route is based on the criteria that have been described before. As the result, the route that fulfilled first criteria is alternative 10 that have average travel time 40.71 hours. The route that fulfilled second criteria is alterntive 5 and alternative that fulfilled first and second criteria are alternative 5. and alternative 10 would be the optimum route.
