EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF MULTIPLE MAGNET EFFECTS ON BUNSEN BURNERS FLAME TEMPERATURE

ABSTRAK

Magnet seringkali digunakan sebagai penghemat bahan bakar. Banyak penelitian yang menggunakan single magnet sebagai penghemat bahan bakar dan penambahan magnet tersebut dapat menaikkan temperatur api pada burner. Pada tugas akhir ini kita menguji pengaruh multiple magnet dengan variasi kekutan medan magnet yang dipasang secara seri di saluran bahan bakar LPG. Penelitian ini menggunakan elektromagnet sebagai magnet penghemat bahan bakar LPG. Jumlah elektromagnet yang digunakan yaitu dua buah dan jarak antara dua magnet adalah tetap. Penambahan medan magnet pada single magnet dan multiple magnet divariasikan pada 01T dan 02T. Uji coba ini dilakukan di Lab TPBB Teknik Mesin ITS dengan menggunakan Bunsen Burner Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah warna api diffusi multiple magnet 02 Tesla paling banyak warna biru daripada warna api diffusi tanpa magnet. Warna api diffusi multiple magnet 01 Tesla lebih banyak warna biru daripada warna api diffusi tanpa magnet. Warna api diffusi tanapa magnet lebih sedikit warna biru. Terjadinya kenaikan tinggi nyala api Multiple Magnet 02 Tesla sebesar 9 mm daripada ketinggian nyala api tanpa magnet. Terjadinya kenaikan tinggi nyala api multiple magnet 01 Tesla sebesar 6 mm daripada ketinggian nyala api tanpa magnet. Nyala api tanpa magnet memiliki ketinggian nyala api yang paling rendah yaitu 120 mm. Terjadinya kenaikan temperatur rata-rata total nyala api sebesar 73719 C dengan adanya penggunaan multiple magnet 01 Tesla daripada temperatur rata-rata total nyala api tanpa magnet. Dengan adanya penggunaan multiple magnet 02 Tesla maka terjadi kenaikan temperatur rata-rata total nyala api sebesar 11243 C daripada temperatur rata-rata total nyala api tanpa magnet. Temperatur rata-rata total nyala api multiple magnet 01 Tesla lebih tinggi daripada temperatur rata-rata total nyala api single magnet 01 Tesla yaitu sebesar 52913 C. Temperatur rata-rata total nyala api multiple magnet 02 Tesla lebih tinggi daripada temperatur rata-rata total nyala api single magnet 02 Tesla yaitu sebesar 27493 C. Tetapi temperatur rata-rata total nyala api single magnet 02 Tesla lebih tinggi daripada temperatur rata-rata total nyala api multiple magnet 01 Tesla yaitu sebesar 11218 C.


ABSTRACT

Magnet is often used as fuel saver. A lot of experiment that use single magnet as fuel saver and because it can increase buners flame temperature. In this final project we will find out multiple magnet effects on bunsen burners flame temperature. In this experiment we use electromagnet as magnetic fuel saver on LPG. The sum of electromagnet that we use in this experiment is two pieces and the gap between two electromagnet is fixed. The variation of magnetic field that we use on single magnet or multiple magnet is 01 Tesla and 02 Tesla. This experiment has been done by using of Bunsen Burner in Lab TPBB Teknik Mesin ITS. Result of this experiment is color diffusion flame of multiple magnet 02 Tesla is the most of blue flame color than color diffusion flame of non magnet. Color diffusion flame of multiple magnet 01 Tesla is more of blue flame color than color diffusion flame of non magnet. Color diffusion flame of non magnet is most least blue flame color. Increasing of flame height on multiple magnet 02 Tesla become 9 mm than the flame height of non magnet. Increasing of flame height on multiple magnet 01 Tesla become 6 mm than the flame height of non magnet. The lowest flame height is the flame height of non magnet and the amount is 120 mm. Increasing of total average flame temperature become 73719 C on the use of multiple magnet 01 Tesla than total average flame temperature of non magnet. By multiple magnet 02 Tesla will increase total average flame temperature become 11243 C than total average flame temperature of non magnet. Total average flame temperature on multiple magnet 01 Tesla is higher than total average flame temperature on single magnet 01 Tesla which amount is 52913 C. Total average flame temperature on multiple magnet 02 Tesla is higher than total average flame temperature on single magnet 02 Tesla which amount is 27493 C. Total average flame temperature on single magnet 02 Tesla is higher than total average flame temperature on multiple magnet 01 Tesla which amount is 11218 C.
