Description:

Sliding Mode Control (SMC) merupakan salah satu metode pengaturan yang dipergunakan untuk memperoleh ketepatan attitude pada satelit, akan tetapi metode ini jarang dipergunakan pada satelit orbit rendah (LEO). Melalui tugas akhir ini, penulis melaksanakan penelitian untuk mencari penyebabnya. Sebagai langkah awal, dilakukan pemodelan terhadap satelit non-spinning dengan orbit LEO dalam bentuk quaternion. Torsi kontrol yang diperoleh dari sliding mode controller digunakan untuk mengatur attitude satelit. Hasil perancangan kemudian diuji melalui simulasi untuk kemudian dilakukan analisa. Dari hasil analisa, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat simpangan pada attitude satelit yang disebabkan atmospheric drag, yang menyebabkan sliding mode controller bekerja dengan kurang baik pada sistem satelit dengan orbit LEO.

SMC is one of the controlling methods used to gain the exact attitude of sattelite, but this method is rarely used to the LEO. Trough this minithesis, the writer had done some research to find the possible causes. As the first step, a modelling to a non-spinning satellite was done in the LEO orbit as quaternion. Control tortion from the sliding mode controller was used to manage the sattelite's attitude. The design result then tested trough simulations so that the analyzing part could be done afterwards. The result got the writer come to a conclusion that there is a deviation on the sattelite's attitude caused by athmospheric drag, where it impacts to the sliding mode controller's performance to sattelite with LEO orbit.
