Tesis ini menganalisis hubungan Gaya Kepemimpinan manajer lapangan dengan Kematangan dan Sikap Bawahan. Gaya kepemimpinan ditinjau berdasarkan teori kepemimpinan Hersey-Blanchard, yang membagi atas empat gaya yaitu gaya "mendelegasikan", gaya "mengikutsertakan", gaya "menjajakan", dan gaya "memberitahukan". Kematangan bawahan ditinjau berdasarkan Kematangan Pekerjaan dan Kematangan Psikologis bawahan. Sikap Bawahan yang dimaksud adalah sikap setuju/tidak setuju pada masing-masing gaya kepemimpinan tersebut. Hubungan ditentukan berdasarkan nilai korelasi, pertama; nilai korelasi antara variabel Gaya Kepemimpinan dengan variabel Kematangan Bawahan, kedua; korelasi antara variabel Gaya Kepemimpinan dengan variabel Sikap Bawahan. Populasi penelitian berasal dari empat perusahaan konstruksi yang berstatus BUMN di kota Surabaya yaitu PT. Hutama Karya, PT. Pembangunan Perumahan, PT. Adhi Karya, dan PT. Waskita Karya. Responden penelitian adalah para bawahan lansung dari manajer lapangan dan manajer lapangan sebagai atasan para bawahan yang bersangkutan. Angket yang disebar sebanyak 125 buah, yang kembali dan memenuhi syarat untuk diolah 13 angket dari atasan dan 58 angket dari bawahan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode kuisener (question) memakai angket yang berisi pernyataan dengan pilihan jawaban bentuk tertutup. Pengukuran data menggunakan skala Likert dan Semantic Differential. Analisa statistik menggunakan teknik Analisa Faktor (Factor analysis) untuk menguji konstruk dan menghitung varian variabel-variabel. Sedangkan untuk menghitung nilai korelasi menggunakan teknik Analisa Korelasi. Hasil penelitian membuktikan model masih memenuhi/representatif secara statistik. Tingkat pendidikan berkorelasi kuat dengan kematangan pekerjaan, dan tidak berkorelasi kuat dengan kematangan psikologis bawahan. Sedangkan tingkat efektivitas gaya kepemimpinan berdasarkan nilai kedua korelasi menyatakan bahwa gaya kepemimpinan yang paling efektif adalah gaya kepemimpinan "mendelegasikan", efektivitas tingkat kedua adalah gaya kepemimpinan "partisipasi". Gaya kepemimpinan "menjajakan" dan gaya kepemimpinan "memberitahukan" tidak efektif.

The purposes of the study are to analyze the correlation of the site manager's leadership styles versus the maturity of the subordinates and the site manager's leadership styles versus the attitude of subordinates. The leadership style is viewed from the leadership theory of Hersey-Blanchard, who divides into four basic leadership styles such as "Telling", "Selling", "Participating", and "Delegating" style. The maturity of the subordinates is observed from the Job Maturity and Psychological Maturity. The maturity is the ability and willingness of people to take responsibilities for directing their own behavior. The attitude is evaluative statements - either agree or disagree - against each of the leadership styles. The population of this research is from the BUMN construction company in the Surabaya, which is PT. Hutama Karya, PT. Pembangunan Perumahan, PT. Adhi Karya, and PT. Waskita Karya. The respondent has position as a subordinate and a site manager in the field organization of construction project. There are 100 questionnaires for the subordinate and 25 questionnaires for the site manager have been distributed. There are 58 questionnaires from the subordinate and 13 questionnaires from the site manager are valid and have been returned. The Likert Scale and Semantic Differential have been used to measure the data collected. The data is analyzed with the Factor and Correlation analysis. The factor analysis is used to indicate the validity of construct and the correlation analysis to indicate a relationship between the two variables. The research conclusion shows that the model is still acceptable / representative statically. The level of education strongly correlates with the job maturity, and does not strongly correlate with the psychological maturity of the subordinates. There are a weak relationship between the education and the psychological maturity. Henceforth, base on the correlation coefficients, the most effective leadership styles is "delegating", and the second is "participating". The "selling" and "telling" style is not effective.
