Antrian-antrian kendaraan yang terjadi pada simpang yang lain merupakan efek dari simpang-simpang yang ada di sekitarnya. Kendaraan yang lepas dari simpang yang pertama hulu biasanya akan berhenti pada simpang berikutnya. Bila simpang-simpang tersebut tidak dikoordinasikan satu dengan yang lain maka akan menimbulkan dampak-dampak lalu lintas seperti kemacetan atau antrian kendaraan bertambah jumlah henti kendaraan number of stops meningkat waktu tundaan meningkat biaya operasi kendaraan meningkat serta kerugian ekonomi yang tidak bisa diukur langsung dengan rupiah intangible Penelitian ini berlokasi di salah satu ruas jalan utama kota Surabaya yaitu pada ruas jalan Ngagel Jaya Selatan sebanyak 3 tiga buah simpang yang terdiri dari 1 satu buah simpang tiga dan 2 dua buah simpang empat. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan optimasi koordinasi lalu lintas dengan menggunakan analisis program TRANSYT yang menghasilkan nilai Performance Index PI. Performance Index PI merupakan suatu ukuran biaya kemacetan lalu lintas yang berupa kombinasi dari biayatundaan dan biaya stops kendaraan. Sebelum dan setelah dilakukan koordinasi program TRANSYT akan menghasilkan pembahan nilai Performance IndexPI. Performance Index PI mengalami penurunan pada pagi hari sebesar 496 siang hari 751 dan sore hari 1010. Biaya tundaan juga mengalami penurunan sebesar 926 pada pagi hari 1275 pada siang hari dan sore hari 1043. Mean journey speed mengalami peningkatan pada pagi siang dan sore hari masing-masing sebesar 65 826 dan 9.37. Total time spent total waktu perjalanan mengalami penurunan pada pagi siang dan sore hari masing-masing sebesar 556 788 dan 828. Dari hasil optimasi beberapa panjang siklus dengan Program TRANSYT diperoleh panjang siklus yang baru yang menghasilkan Performance Index yang paling kecil. Waktu siklus optimum yang baru pada pagi siang dan sore hari masing masing 90 detik 90 detik dan 130 detik


The queuing of vehicle that take place at other intersection represent effect its surrounding intersections. Vehicle which manage to get out of the first intersection upper course usually will stop at the next intersection. If these intersections are not coordinated with one other it will generate traffic impacts such as an increase of time travel rise in traffic congestion or vehicle queuing increase in number of stops rise in delay time an increase vehicle operating expenses and also economic loss which cannot be measured directly with rupiahs intangible This research is conducted in one of Major Street in Surabaya at Ngagel Jaya Selatan Street This street has three intersection that consist of one three -lags intersection and two four-lags intersections. At this research the optimization of traffic coordination by using TRANSYT program analysis was conducted yielding Performance Index PI value. Performance Index PI is a measurement of the cost of traffic congestion that combines of the cost of delay and the vehicle stops cost. Before and after coordination was conducted the TRANSYT program will yield a change of Performance Index PI value. The degradation of Performance Index in the morning is equal to 4.96 afternoon is 7.51 and in the evening are 10.10. The decrease of cost of delay in the morning afternoon and evening are 926 12.75 and 10.43. Mean journey speed increase in the morning afternoon and evening is 6.50 8.26 and 9.37. The total spent time decrease in the morning afternoon and evening is 5.56 7.88 and 8.28 respectively. The optimizing of some cycle times by using TRANSYT program has revealed the new cycle produce a minimum Performance Index. The new optimum cycle time taking place in the morning afternoon and evening are 90 90 and 130 seconds respectively.
